2 INTR0DUCTION ASTIN COLLOQUIUM 2013 On behalf of het Actuarieel Genootschap (AG), it is my pleasure to introduce the Colloquium of ASTIN 2013, which will be held in The Hague, May It is an honour of the Actuarial Association of The Netherlands to host this Colloquium. The event will be held at the World Forum, Churchillplein 10, The Hague, The Netherlands. ASTIN is the section of the International Actuarial Association (IAA) for non-life (or general insurance or property-casualty) actuaries and researchers worldwide. The ASTIN colloquium is the annual international conference, bringing together academics and practitioners with mutual interests in the field of non-life insurance and insurance enterprise risk management. Founded in 1895, the IAA is the worldwide association representing local professional actuarial associations and their individual actuaries. The IAA is a unique international organisation dedicated to research, education and development of the profession and of actuarial associations. In order to encourage actuarial research and the development in particular areas of practice, the IAA has created specialist Sections of which the membership is open to various categories of members. The program of the ASTIN Colloquium 2013 will include plenary sessions with formal addresses by invited keynote speakers, topical presentations by subject-matter experts, and parallel sessions at which submitted papers will be presented. The event will cover a variety of topics that will interest both those who are at the beginning of their careers and those who have already earned a reputation in the actuarial field. I hope that you will join us in participating in the event as a sponsor.
