Review f December 8, 2017 Reginal Rundtable Charles Fiedler reprted as fllws: There was gd participatin in the discussin with new peple invlved. The layut f the rm fr the Rundtable was gd fr participatin by all. The $50 dr prize was wn by a CABQ Envirnmental Dept., emplyee. C. Plans fr 2017 Financial Audit Jerry Kamieniecki agreed t cntact Terry Nelsn s that bth culd wrk n the financial audit fr JAnne Weaver indicated she wuld have the recrds ready and delivered t Jerry s that wrk culd begin within the tw r three weeks.

Prpsed 2018 Budget JAnne Weaver presented the prpsed 2018 budget fr discussin and the fllwing adjustments were made: At the request f Danita Bettner, the IB Rep line item will be raised t a ttal f $5,000. T raise the fees fr the fur-day Landfill Operatr Certificatin Training classes the fllwing mtin was made: MSC: Danita Bettner and Charles Fiedler t apprve that the March and September Landfill Class fees increase frm $250 t $300 fr these fur-day classes. Discussin f Jint Cnference Papers Charles Fiedler led the discussin n the September 24-26, 2018, Jint Cnference Papers and the fllwing was agreed upn by cnsensus: There needs t be a clearer understanding f divisin f duties and mnies laid ut in the MOU Sarah Pierpnt and her staff will earn percent f the ttal budget in handling all administratin f the cnference. New Business Charles Fiedler will meet with Sarah Pierpnt t irn ut the text and ther issues f the Jint Cnference Memrandum f Understanding. He will als discuss with Sarah the need t skim dwn the descriptins f the spnsrship levels. A. Determine Dates fr 2018 E-Training Sessins At the suggestin f Jerry Kamieniecki the dates f March 6 and August 7, 2018 fr the 2018 E-Training Sessins were agreed upn by cnsensus. B. Determine Dates fr April and Octber Rundtables At the suggestin f Randal Watkins the dates f April 17 and Octber 16, 2018 fr the 2018 Reginal Rundtables were agreed upn by

4 Page 4 f 5 cnsensus. Decisins fr lcatins and leaders fr these Rundtables will be placed n the February bard meeting agenda. C. Determine Dates fr 2018 Annual Meeting JAnne Weaver reprted t the bard that the secnd Friday in December is the 14th that is quite late fr the Annual Meeting. The entire Embassy Suites htel is already reserved n the first Friday f December fr anther rganizatin. It was agreed that JAnne wuld attempt t arrange fr the 2018 Annual Meeting t be held n the last Friday f Nvember, Nvember 30, Adm. Nte: JAnne was able t reserve December 7, 2018, fr the next Annual Meeting. The LaVentana Rm was nt available fr Nvember 30. D. IB Representative Appintment MSC: Duglas Shimic and Stephen Miceli t apprve the appintment f Danita Bettner t serve anther year as the IB Representative. VI. Cmmittee Reprts A. Educatin Upn the recmmendatin f Charles Fiedler and agreed upn by the cnsensus f the bard the fllwing mtin was made: MSC: Duglas Shimic and Charles Fiedler t apprve that $10,000 be added t the 2018 budget t pay tw r three persns t rewrite the Landfill Operatr Training Certificatin Manual. Charles Fiedler will discuss with Auralie Ashley-Marx, SWB Chief, that NM SWANA has placed these additinal funds in the 2018 NM SWANA budget t rewrite this manual. Charles als ffered t find persns t wrk n the rewriting f the landfill manual. B. Cmmunicatins Jerry Kamieniecki, Cmmunicatins Chair, reprted the March 2018 "Let's Talk Trash" newsletter will include the fllwing articles: 2017 Annual Meeting and Reginal Rundtable that Randal Watkins will write Natinal 2017 Rad-E-O participants that Shirlene Sittn will be asked t write Other articles that are recmmended by bard members Jerry nted that the Nvember 2017 newsletter was missing frm the website. Clin Rss, NM SWANA Webmaster, will replace the missing 2017 Nvember Newsletter.

IB Bard Danita Bettner, IB Representative reprted the fllwing: The Internatinal Bard (IB) will be reduced frm 70+ t 20+ representatives and will create an advisry bard (AB) where all chapters will be a part f standard cmmittees (e.g., plicy, finance, planning, etc.). The Radrunner Chapter will ultimately be part f a regin (Regin 2) that have similar envirnmental/plitical issues/challenges, including Arizna, Clrad, Utah and Nevada SWANA Chapters. Frm these Chapter representatives a reginal representative will sit n the IB bard. Remaining chapter representatives will sit n the AB and be invlved in cmmittees. There are Blackut Dates that the Radrunner Chapter needs t be aware f due t being within a 500-mile radius f SWANA Internatinal event (this desn t happen very ften fr us). We will be impacted as a result f SWANApalza being in Denver (March 5-7, 2018) and WASTECON (Octber 2019). SWANA Internatinal received a clean high-ranking audit. Changes are being made t the SWANA Internatinal Bylaws due t the change in SWANA gvernance, which will be handed dwn t the Chapters s they can update their Bylaws accrdingly. Chapters will then need t btain the apprpriate vtes frm the membership fr acceptance. SWANA cuncil will ultimately be assisting with crafting the language fr bth SWANA internatinal and chapters t cnsider. One thing t cnsider is t mve ur fficer term calendar t match that f SWANA Internatinal, which happens at WASTECON (September/Octber) as ppsed t starting urs in December, which essentially causes the IB/AB t be initiated int the prcess mid-year (March/April). D. Membership There was n reprt as Marcia Pincus, Chairman, was nt present. E. Safety Ambassadr Charles Fiedler presented the Safety Minute regarding cld weather safely tips. VII. Next Radrunner Chapter Meeting The next bard meeting will be held n Tuesday, February 13, 2018, 11am 1:30pm, at the Cnference Rm. VIII. Adjurnment Randal Watkins, President, declared the meeting adjurned at 1:12pm.
