1 Board of Park Commissioners Project Summary 201 Stump Removal Project Scope of Work: This contact is for the removal of 513 stumps currently located along the city s right-ofway in the South West and North West Quadrants. Work includes removal of the stumps and restoration of the site. Funding Source: Budget Estimated Start: February 2018 Estimated Completion: July 2018 Board Approval: This contract is an extension of the stump removal contract awarded to Mudrack Tree Service in March of this year. We are asking the board to approve a contract with Mudrack Tree Service for the removal of 513 stumps (6514 total inches) and site restoration in the amount of $48, Please see the attached bid tab for a breakdown of the bids.

3 Board of Park Commissioners Project Summary Foellinger Theatre Performer Area Improvements Project Project No: Project Approval Request Scope of Work: This project consists of improvements to the basement area of the Foellinger Theatre building. The improvements will include the creation of a new space for performer green rooms, changing areas, restrooms, and office areas. The space will also include a new elevator and improvements to ADA accessibility.. Funding Source: Parks Bond Fund Board Approval: On November 8 th, bids were accepted on Behalf of the Board of Park Commissioners for this project. Four companies submitted bids. The low bidder was Schenkel Construction. The parks department has a very good working history with this contractor and would like to recommend the acceptance of their bid. The bid was within the engineer s estimate for the project. At this time I would like to ask for the Board s approval of this project with Schenkel Construction, Inc. for the amount of $49, I ll be happy to answer any questions. Thank you. Steve Schuhmacher

The existing 2-5 play equipment has reached its life expectancy and needs replaced. This old equipment will be removed and the new equipment will be placed in the same location, along with new wood fiber playground safety surfacing. Funding Source: Parks Budget Board Approval: On October 26th, s were accepted on Behalf of the Board of Park Commissioners for this project. Five companies submitted s. The budget for the project was specified at $95, and the vendors were instructed to design to that dollar amount. A review committee rated the s for value, quality and design. The committee felt that the submitted by Countryside Play Structures LLC Recreation most accurately met the requirements of this project. 20 Board of Park Commissioners Project Summary Buckner Park Playground Safety Surfacing Improvements Project Project No: Project Approval Request Scope of Work: This project consists of improvements to the playground safety surfacing at Buckner Park playground. The existing playground has poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing that has reached its life expectancy and needs to be replaced. The new proposed safety surfacing is an engineered turf system that will work much better and last longer providing a superior playground surface. Funding Source: Parks Bond Fund Board Approval: On October 30th, quotes were accepted on Behalf of the Board of Park Commissioners for this project. Five companies submitted s. The low quote was submitted by Rubberecycle LLC which will provide and install a product called Genesis Turf under all of the play equipment at Buckner Park. At this time I would like to ask for the Board s approval of this project with Schenkel Construction, Inc. for the amount of $211, Please see attached quote tab sheet for quote results. New Scope of Work: This was a very detailed project which included many unexpected changes. These changes have been compiled in the attached change order list. This project was below our original budget of $1,200, and therefore funds for this change order are available through the Park Bond. Board Approval: At this time I would like to ask the Board of Park Commissioners for approval of a change addition of $34, to this contract. The new ladder will make a safer passage for staff to access the upper tower areas. New Scope of Work: During installation it was found that one of the original steel support beams was not adequate for support of the new structure and therefore had to be replaced. This resulted in an additional cost to the project. New Scope of Work: A high contingency allowance was included with this project because the floor resurfacing was dependent upon temperature conditions. If the temperatures were not warm enough to apply the floor sealant, measures would have been needed to control the temperature. However, temperatures were adequate and the job was completed without needing the additional funds.
