We ve started with the mst ppular insurance and financial planning standards (see belw) but yu can help determine which prgrammes are cntained in ur Release 2 by telling us knw which apprenticeship standards/framewrks are mst relevant fr yur business by ing us at apprenticeships@cii.c.uk Release 1 sees us initially fcus n the fllwing apprenticeship prgrammes, which all have in-takes in September 2018: England 1. Insurance Practitiner (Level 3) 2. Insurance Prfessinal (Level 4) 3. Financial Adviser (Level 4) Wales 1. Fundatin apprenticeship in prviding financial services: General Insurance Pathway (Level 2) 2. Apprenticeship in prviding financial services: General Insurance Pathway (Level 3) 3. Higher apprenticeship in insurance: Team Leader Pathway (Level 4) 4. Higher apprenticeship in insurance: Technician Pathway (Level 4) 2

The Persnal Finance Sciety s financial adviser develpment prgramme previusly knwn as Aspire has been incrprated int the Aspire Apprenticeship Prgrammes, which nw caters fr the whle insurance and financial planning prfessin. This training is still very much available and the Financial Adviser (Level 4) apprenticeship training is an integral part f ur release 1 which has a September 2018 in-take. The ther financial planning apprenticeship training prgrammes will be rlled ut in line with emplyer demand. Visit t register an interest fr yur business 3
4 Signing Up Hw d I sign up my apprentice(s)? Simply visit and cmplete the expressin f interest frm. The frm is designed t be easy t cmplete and nly takes a few minutes depending upn hw many apprentices yu want t register. What is invlved in signing up? There are three simple steps t enrl yur apprentices t start their learning jurney 1. Register Cmplete the expressin f interest frm at 2. Applicatin - An apprved training prvider will cntact yu t discuss hw: > Aspire Apprenticeships Prgrammes can wrk fr yur business > what supprt is required frm yu as an emplyer > and t talk t the nminated apprentice(s). Fllwing these cnversatins an applicatin frm will need t be cmpleted by the apprentice(s). 3. Onbarding Successful apprentices are placed int reginal chrts and are ready t be enrlled and start their training prgramme. T&Cs and funding arrangements are finalised between the training prvider and yur business. Rlling in-takes run thrughut the year, starting in January, May and September. What is the cmmitment/what will be expected f emplyers? As an emplyer yu will be expected t supprt yur apprentice t attend 20% ff-the-jb training within their nrmal wrking hurs acrss the duratin f the apprenticeship. Off-the-jb training is time spent learning which will cntribute t the develpment f an apprentice s skills, knwledges and cmpetencies and can be delivered in the frm f nline training, shadwing, mentring, research, writing assignments etc. Yur allcated training prvider will wrk with yu as the emplyer t identify hw yu can cntribute twards ff-the-jb training. As an emplyer it is als best practice t assign a mentr t supprt with nging learning, this can be, but desn t have t be, a direct line manager but shuld be smene wh can assist during the apprenticeship and be available t supprt learning. There is als an expectatin t attend regular review meetings and prvide feedback n the apprentice s prgress. 4
5 Csts in invlved Hw much will it cst my business? The cst f the apprenticeship training itself is standard acrss each f the devlved administratins; England, Wales, Sctland and Nrthern Ireland. Fr instance, in England the Insurance Practitiner (level 3) training csts Hwever, hw much f this cst is actually paid by an emplyer varies depending n whether the business pays the apprenticeship levy r nt. In England: Thse businesses with an annual wage bill f less than 3m per year, d nt pay the levy and are eligible fr 90% c-funding (up t the funding band maximum) frm the gvernment. Meaning that fr the Insurance Practitiner (level 3) training, an eligible emplyer wuld pay 900 rather than the full Nn-levy paying firms will als be eligible fr the additinal supprt relating t apprentices aged (the additinal 1,000 in gvernment funding) and thse apprentices aged wh have previusly been in care r has a Lcal Educatin, Health and Care plan (additinal 1,000 in gvernment funding) Fr emplyers with fewer than 50 peple, the apprenticeship training will be 100% funded by the gvernment, if n the first day f the apprenticeship the apprentice is aged years ld r aged years ld and has either: an educatin, health & care plan r has been in the care f the lcal authrity. Whilst thse businesses wh have an annual wage bill f mre than 3m per year, pay the apprenticeship levy and will need t meet 100% f the training cst frm this fund. In Wales: 100% funding is available t all emplyers in Wales (subject t eligibility). In Sctland & Nrthern Ireland: There is n levy r c-investment funding available t emplyers. The Aspire Apprenticeship training is still accessible t emplyers in these cuntries but cmmercial prices apply. Hw d I access my apprenticeship levy pt t pay fr the training? In England: As a levy paying emplyer yu will need t register t set up an Apprenticeship accunt n the gvernment s nline Digital Apprenticeship Service gv.uk website in rder t access the levy funds. If yu haven t already dne this, yur allcated training prvider will take yu thrugh hw this is dne step-by-step during the nbarding prcess. In Wales: There is n digital accunt equivalent f the Digital Apprenticeship Service gv.uk website in Wales - instead, emplyers access funding directly frm the training prvider they use. Yur allcated training prvider will take yu thrugh hw this is dne step-by-step during the nbarding prcess. In Sctland & Nrthern Ireland: There is n levy funding available t emplyers. In England: Yur allcated training prvider will utline the exact steps during the nbarding prcess but suffice t say yu will simply pay yur agreed 10% cntributin direct t them. Yu d nt need t wrry abut claiming any funding this is dealt with by the training prvider. In Wales: There is n c-investment funding in Wales as 100% funding is available t all emplyers in Wales (subject t eligibility). In Sctland & Nrthern Ireland: There is n c-investment funding available t emplyers. The Aspire Apprenticeship training is still accessible t emplyers in these cuntries but cmmercial prices apply. Will I need a cntract with the training prvider? One f the many ways that Aspire Apprenticeships makes it easy fr emplyers t access apprenticeship training is by remving the need fr detailed and time-cnsuming prcurement discussins with Training Prviders - we ve cnsidered the detail fr yu. As a cnsequence, yur allcated training prvider will walk yu thrugh a set f standard terms and cnditins during the nbarding prcess. 6

Rlling training prgrammes make it simple and cnvenient fr yu t get yur apprentices up and running quickly n their relevant apprenticeship standard. We run three in-takes each year starting in January, May and September. In additin, we run multiple chrts in each in-take fr every apprenticeship standard ffered, meaning that ur in-take capacity fr apprentices acrss the UK is high. Hw will learning take place? It will take the frm f wrk-based learning with tutrial supprt t achieve bth the apprenticeship standard/framewrk and the selected qualificatin. Yur allcated training prvider will prvide yu with tailred in-depth prgramme materials during the nbarding prcess which will detail the full learning prgramme and timings but the learning supprt prvided by the Aspire Apprenticeship Prgrammes will typically include: Regular cntact t mnitr prgressin & CPD Emplyer interactin thrugh and 360 feedback all supprted by rbust CPD and regular checkpints Directed self-study with study supprt Study grups/ wrkshps where apprpriate Face t face r live nline learning delivery Use f technlgy t supprt and engage learner, manage prgressin and achievement thrugh an nline e-prtfli management tl Hw is the training delivered? Aspire Apprenticeship Prgrammes ffers tw distinct learning delivery mdels t suit the preferred learning style f the apprentice, namely (i) traditinal face t face learning r (ii) live nline learning. Apprentices will receive the Gvernment set, 20% ff-the-jb training thrughut their Apprenticeship which will include a mix f: business related prject wrk wrkshps and seminars grup activities and learning webinars interactive e-learning caching and mentring persnal develpment planning nline study materials Where there are pprtunities t adpt prject based appraches t develpment, the allcated training prvider will agree the scpe f the prject activity with the business, line manager and learner. Thrughut the prgramme, the allcated training prvider will create pprtunities fr peer netwrking, thrugh face t face wrkshps and activities, as well as digitally, via nline frums, tutrials and scial media netwrking. 9
