1 Ramsey Millin Partnership General Pints GUIDANCE FOR APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDING GENERAL GRANTS POT 2019 (i) Opening Statement Yur grant applicatin must meet the criteria as established by the Big Lcal and the Ramsey Millin Cmmunity Plan. (see Sectin 3) Big Lcal s main criteria are that they want peple t feel that their area is an even better place t live. They ask that we achieve this by having the cmmunity f Ramsey Parish make that difference by priritising the themes in the lcal plan. They cnsider that cmmunities will be better able t identify their wn lcal needs and take actin in respnse t them. As a result, Big Lcal requires that the peple f Ramsey Parish will have develped and increased their skills and cnfidence, s that they are enabled t cntinue t identify and respnd t their wn needs in the future. (ii) Abut Ramsey Millin Partnership It was established in 2012 in rder t decide hw the 1 millin awarded t Ramsey by Big Lcal t the peple f the Parish f Ramsey is spent. It is made up frm peple wh live and / r wrk in Ramsey Parish and have vlunteered their time and skills t becme the Ramsey Millin Partnership. (iii) Eligibility refers t sectin 1 n applicatin frm. Yu must be a grup, charity r rganisatin based within, r whse activities r clients are lcated within, the Parish f Ramsey (including Ramsey Twn, Ramsey Heights, Ramsey St Mary s, Ramsey Mereside, Ramsey Frty Ft, Ramsey Hllw). Grups may submit a jint bid but, fr the applicatin prcess, yu must chse a lead rganisatin t be the named applicant. Yur purpse fr requesting a grant frm the Ramsey Millin Partnership must be t directly benefit the peple f the Parish f Ramsey. Preference will be given t grups wh have nt previusly received a Ramsey Millin Grant (subject t it being a gd bid). All applicants must be ver the age f 18 but in exceptinal circumstances we will be able t cnsider an applicatin if there is a cunter signature by a guarantr. Please be aware that this will need t be discussed with the Ramsey Millin Partnership prir t the applicatin being made. Please nte that individuals may nt apply, and yu must be part f a lcal grup, charity r rganisatin which has a bank accunt - we cannt pay int persnal accunts. (iv) Meeting the Big Lcal Outcmes & Ramsey Millin Themes refers t sectins (3a) n applicatin frm The Ramsey Millin Cmmunity Plan is the result f an extensive cnsultatin f the peple in Ramsey Parish and fur clear themes fr actin have been identified. These are: Yung Peple Transprt and Access Families and Yung Children Business, Heritage and Turism Ramsey Millin Partnership Big Lcal Ideas fr Ramsey Parish

2 ~ 2 ~ Fr further details see enclsed plan r read the plan nline at: Fr this grant rund, prjects need t address issues arund lneliness and scial islatin This theme has been priritised as it is an area which was raised in ur cnsultatins but has nt received much funding t date. We are lking t yu t fr new ideas t help in these areas. Fr this theme we culd fund ne large prject r several smaller prjects depending n the quality f the applicatins received. Under the general theme f lneliness and scial islatin we wuld include: Prjects which benefit peple f any age; Families with children, Yung peple, Adults, Older peple r Grups which benefit peple in mre than ne age categry; Physical disabilities Peple with mental health issues Peple with a learning disability Peple with a physical disability Peple with additinal needs. Big Lcal has sme specific utcmes that it expects all prjects t be able t fulfil in sme way. Yu need t clearly identify what results yur grup/prject/activity expects frm the use f the grant yu have requested s yu need t ask yurself Will the peple invlved in this activity increase their skills and/r cnfidence t enable them t carry n identifying and respnding t the needs f their cmmunity? Will this activity make the cmmunity feel that their area is an even better place t live and hw can yu shw that this is the case? Yur applicatin must fit at least ne f the utcmes abve. There must be a clear benefit t the cmmunity r t a specified part f it. These criteria are part f the evaluatin prcess and failure t meet the Big Lcal Outcmes r the Ramsey Millin Partnership s Criteria will result in an immediate rejectin f the applicatin. Hwever, yu will be given full infrmatin and feedback as t why the applicatin failed. Advice will be given t either re-apply t a later funding rund with extra r mre apprpriate infrmatin r yu will be advised hw the Partnership thinks yu may btain funding frm elsewhere. 3 ~ 3 ~ (v) What we will nt fund Registered charities whse submissins t the Charity Cmmissin are nt up t date Statutry respnsibilities (i.e. prjects which shuld be funded by a statutry bdy) Spnsred r fundraising events Prjects prmting plitical activities Faith grups prmting religius, nn-cmmunity-based activities Retrspective funding (i.e. grants fr activities which have already taken place) N grant applicatins will be accepted fr amunts ver 15,000 but applicatins fr part funding larger prjects will be cnsidered prviding yu have the capacity t fund the rest f the prject. (vi) Paying the Grant All requests fr payment must be accmpanied by receipts t enable the Partnership t release the funds t yu, as prf f purchase is required. Hwever, if yur grup des nt hld sufficient funds t d this then the Partnership wuld be happy t discuss this with yu. A grant may be made available in staged payments depending upn the level f award and the nature f the prject t be supprted. The mney must be spent within ne year f the grant ffer and receipt f mnies, unless there is a gd reasn fr the delay and it has been agreed with Ramsey Millin Partnership prir t the delay ccurring. Please nte that funding must be returned if it is nt spent in the agreed timescale, is nt spent as agreed r that RMP finds that purchased equipment is nt being used. Cmpleting the Applicatin Frm If yu fill this in n a cmputer, the bxes will expand as yu write in them. 1a-d Fill in details f yur rganisatin, as apprpriate. 2a Give a shrt title t yur prject which gives an indicatin f what it cvers 2b Give a mre detailed explanatin f what the grant mney will be used fr. Make sure it is clear what the prject will achieve and hw it will ease the prblems f lneliness and scial islatin. Please explain in a maximum f 300 wrds. 2c Give the ttal cst f yur prject. 2d Hw much are yu applying fr. 2e See this pint n the frm. We need t knw if yu are nt awarded the full amunt requested, that the prject is still viable. 2f Give a breakdwn f the budget s it is clear where the mney will be spent. Include salary csts if relevant. Make sure yu think thrugh yur prject carefully and include all the csts yu might incur such as administrative csts, statinery, telephne etc. as well as any equipment yu might be purchasing. 4 ~ 4 ~ Applicatins fr 2,000 r mre will require three cmpetitive qutes. These must be supplied with the applicatin frm. Where pssible, at least ne qute shuld be frm a lcal business. 2g State what difference this grant will make t yur grup and yur members / users. Tell us abut wh will benefit either because they will be directly invlved r because they will be able t enjy the benefits f yur prject. Fr example, will it make yur grup mre financially sustainable, will it help members build strnger relatinships with each ther r with ther grups, will yur members gain new skills, will it enable members t undertake activities they might therwise nt be able t d? 2h Describe what difference this grant might make t the cmmunity? Fr example, will it help members build strnger relatinships with ther grups, will it prvide a new service fr the peple f Ramsey Parish, will it enable yur members t pass n skills t the cmmunity mre widely? 2i Outline the timeline fr the prject including the time frame fr the main milestnes. If yu d nt knw the start date, this can be presented as start, then x weeks fr each milestne after the beginning. Sme prjects may just invlve purchasing an item in which case the timeline will be very simple. 2j Indicate hw yu will ensure that the prject keeps t the timescale utlined and hw yu will deal with any changes. 2k It is very imprtant that prjects funded thrugh Big Lcal achieve their bjectives (*utputs) and recrd the impact they have (**utcmes). Yu therefre need t cnsider what infrmatin yu need t keep t be able t measure this. *Outputs are things that actually happen, fr example numbers f peple attending an event, activity r training curse, what type f peple (age, gender etc.), what qualificatins are gained, what skills are learned. **Outcmes are changes, impacts, benefits, r any effects that happen as a result f yur prject. These culd be very wide ranging depending n the nature f yur prject. One example culd be gaining in cnfidence frm attending a playscheme r having the pprtunity t meet thers peple. The amunt f infrmatin required t measure the impact f yur prject will depend n the level f funding awarded and will be utlined in the ffer letter. This can take many frms and can be drawn frm the fllwing: A shrt, written reprt Phtgraphs / pictures A vide A recrding A persnal interview with a beneficiary highlighting what changes the prject has made fr them A questinnaire/survey A presentatin t the Partnership Successful applicants will receive an evaluatin frm alng with the ffer letter. 5 ~ 5 ~ highlight risks as serius (red),mderate (range) and minr (green), Fr example, yu might think attracting users culd be a risk, then yu might wish t address hw yu prmte and advertise the prject. 2m Please utline whether yu are cmmitting any f yur wn resurces t this prject in additin the grant funding. This can include vlunteer time. Indicate the types f resurces yu will be allcating such as ther grant funding, yur wn financial resurces, staff time funded thrugh ther surces, vlunteer time. PLEASE NOTE: If yu need any advice r help with cmpleting this applicatin, we can recmmend an independent rganisatin (a nn-prfit making registered charity) that has experience supprting lcal cmmunity grups.
