Fr further infrmatin abut the department, please visit ur website Cntext The Grup/Divisin The Planning Grup delivers functins fcused n statutry planning and heritage, planning and building systems, planning prject implementatin, frward plicy, business strategy, and planning panels. The Planning Grup has prtfli engagement respnsibilities fr a number f significant Statutry Authrities and Administrative Offices ranging in size, cmplexity and cre functins. The Branch The Building Unit is respnsible fr the develpment f plicies and brad-based strategies t achieve imprved utcmes fr participants in, and cnsumer s f, Victria s building industry. The Unit advises n strategic building plicy develpment and necessary changes t regulatry cntrls. The scpe f the wrk cvers building standards, the legislative framewrk, gvernance and current issues as they relate t the built envirnment. The Unit is als respnsible fr managing the relatinship with the Victrian Building Authrity, versight f its perfrmance and engagement with key industry and cnsumer stakehlders. Accuntabilities Lead, manage r prvide high level supprt as part f a team fr ne r mre prjects, plicies, prgrams and/r pieces f legislatin r regulatin based n expertise. When leading and managing: ensure business bjectives, including quality and time related targets, are met demnstrate effective prject management and implement, prmte and evaluate cmplex and innvative ptins. Prvide advice n issues, ptins and slutins, ensuring that the advice is suitable fr its audience, factual and accurate. Initiate and maintain effective relatinships and wrk cllabratively with peers and senir internal and external stakehlders t supprt departmental and gvernment pririties and ensure plicy pririties are delivered effectively and achieve the stated utcmes. Maintain an active awareness f natinal building issues, with a particular fcus n regulatry amendment prpsals and any implicatins fr the building regulatry system in Victria. Psitin specific requirements This psitin has the fllwing specific requirements: Key Selectin Criteria Natinal Plice Check will be cnducted as part f the selectin prcess (fr all nn-delwp emplyees). The key selectin criteria specified belw utline the capabilities required fr the psitin. Specialist/Technical Expertise A tertiary qualificatin in law, public plicy r a related discipline is highly desirable. A sund understanding f gvernment legislative and regulatry prcesses preferably in planning r a building related field, tgether with experience in the develpment and amendment f legislatin and regulatins is desirable. Knwledge and Skills Plicy Skills: Builds trusting relatinships with stakehlders t infrm plicy develpment and gain cmmitment t implementatin. Frmulates and cmmunicates public plicy ptins and recmmendatins. Scans fr links and ptential implicatins f prpsed plicy ptins. Keeps up-t-date with a brad range f cntemprary issues.
