The new terminal has an external Arabic design, merging its traditional architecture with a modern interior design. It is supported with advanced and innovative equipment such as a new bi-directional E-Gate System for Immigration, baggage X-ray s facial recognition CCTV for Security. The equipment will facilitate the swift and efficient administration of passengers, arriving or departing the terminal, ensuring that they are able to take best advantage of time and experience in the traditional Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. 2 Landscaping & Greening of RAK Port Mark Mcquire, Executive Director of Landscaping RAK Public Works & Services Department, donated and his teams planted 14 Date Palms to support the landscaping and greening initiative on the maritime jetties and terminal areas of Ras Al Khaimah Port. The team completed the program in 6 hours, demonstrating professionalism and dedication throughout. Picture: Planting by RAK Public Works Department The landscaping supervisor also took the time to explain the process of planting and provided advice on the care and maintenance required after planting to the port facilities staff, who will be responsible for their health and care. Picture: Planting by RAK Public Works Department It is hoped that as the trees mature and produce fruits, the dates will be able to be picked, packed, and sold to visiting tourist through the retail outlets in the new luxury cruise passenger terminal. 2

3 Shore Excursions Traditional Dhow Cruise The Port have teamed up with Tour RAK and supported by the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Department providing an opportunity for the Cruise Passenger to board a Traditional Wooden Dhow for a water tour of Ras AL Khaimah Creek, refreshments, breakfast, lunch, or dinner directly from the Terminal Pontoon, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism & Development Department are working on providing shore excursion opportunities in Ras Al Khaimah. 4 Terminal Coffee Shop No passenger terminal would be complete without a suitable outlet offering demonstrations on the art of how to brew and make traditional Arabic beverages utilizing modern equipment, with old techniques. The coffee shop will also provide modern style, fresh, hot and cold food and beverages like Pastries, Croissant s, Cappuccino, Latte s and fresh juices. 5 Traditional Majalis Where else better to sit than in a traditional Majalis, in a modern surrounding taking in the ambience and the traditional background music and lighting. A peaceful arena with an opportunity to witness the making and tasting Arabic coffee, accompanied by sampling of the local dates. Café Dining & Soft Seating Areas Traditional café dining and soft seating areas are also available for those passengers and crew who wish to take advantage of the free WIFI throughout the terminal building. Picture: Ras Al Khaimah Port Majalis Prayer Rooms Cashpoint / ATM s RAK Bank & HSBC Bank have ATM s located in the terminal, enabling passengers, crew and visitors to draw out money, using their personal credit or debit cards. Two (2) separate prayer rooms suites are available for use by male and females. Each suite is supported by en-suite bathrooms, washing facilities and footwear storage. 5

8 Electronic E-Gate RAK Port has made provision and arrangements for installation (in June 2018) of the first UAE Seaport smart E-Gate system, which is for use by the Ras Al Khaimah Immigration Department, to facilitate the swift and easy movement of registered and unregistered passengers through the UAE immigration border. Quantity ten (10), multi-directional, smart E-Gates will be installed, enabling them to be used for arrival and or departure of cruise passengers, ensuring that the equipment is best used to create an efficient and smooth immigration process without the delaying the passenger. Installation of Quantity 10 E-Gates. Multi-directional (Arrival & Departure) Iris & facial recognition scanner. Fingerprint reader / Passport Reader. Use by registered & unregistered users. Initial first time passenger registration, conducting automatic passenger registration, with automatic facial & iris capture, manual passport & fingerprint scanning. Automatic security checks and online immigration approvals in less than 10 seconds per passenger. If the automatic e-gate registration does not work for some reason, the passenger will be directed to the immigration officer desk, where they will be processed utilizing alternative, efficient, online e-registration methods and equipment's, with minimal delays. 8
