I hope everyone is looking forward to a prosperous and wonderful I would like to begin 2018 by sharing this invitation to sponsor Maryland s largest LGBTQ+ PRIDE event, Baltimore PRIDE. This year we are working to make it even bigger and better than ever! The official PRIDE Week is taking place June 7-17, culminating in PRIDE Weekend. On June 15th Youth PRIDE will kick off PRIDE weekend. On June 16th the Parade, Block Party, as well as a DJ space featuring a collection of Baltimore House music, will keep everyone celebrating. The PRIDE Festival will be held on Sunday June 17 at Druid Hill Park, and will feature Elder PRIDE, Family PRIDE, and two stages with performers throughout the day to keep everyone entertained. We have quite the line up! Numerous other Baltimore PRIDE events are being planned for before and after Baltimore PRIDE Week as well. For over 40 years, the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center of Baltimore and Central Maryland (GLCCB) has coordinated Baltimore PRIDE, which serves as the Center s largest fundraiser. Proceeds from PRIDE allow the Center to house over 50 programs and help meet the needs of youth and adults, ranging from youth empowerment, linking people to medical care, and finding housing, to providing a safe and affirming space for community to meet and socialize. The GLCCB s mission is to be a catalyst for uniting and empowering sexual and gender minorities in Baltimore and Maryland, and to advocate for a better quality of life for the entire community. The national annual value of the LGBTQ+ market is estimated to be worth over $917 BILLION and expected to surpass $1 TRILLION by The GLCCB has offered programming since its founding in 1971 and is the official organizer of the annual Baltimore Pride celebration. Same sex households make 16% more trips to the store compared to average households. Baltimore Pride is one of the oldest prides in the nation and has taken place for over 44 years! 55% OF LGBTQ+ consumers will choose to do business with companies that are committed to the diversity/equal treatment of the LGBTQ+ community. The Baltimore Pride committee is all volunteer based. 70% of LGBTQ+ adults stated they would pay a premium for a product from a company that supports the LGBTQ community. This year Pride will have an even larger footprint than last year and the parade will stretch 11 blocks! Baltimore Pride had a great economic impact on the City of Baltimore in 2017, particularly inside the footprint. Baltimore Pride is the largest Pride Festival in MD and was attended by over 30,000 people last year!
