Under component 1 (Strengthening Implementation of the Cash Transfer Program) the three cash transfer pilots were completed in Khartoum, White Nile and North Kordofan using the Proxy Means Test (PMT), and applying the Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing software and tablets, introducing a new electronic platform that minimizes errors. The PMT pilots were accompanied by a well designed communication and sensitization campaign that is being replicated by the Ministry of Security and Social Development (MoSSD) across other states. 2 data collected from the three pilot states is being reviewed by the Bank team and the PMT formula and weights used will be updated to minimize possible categorization errors. The grievance redress mechanism guidelines for the cash transfer program have been prepared in close consultation with MoSSD. The GRM will be piloted in North Kordofan. Activities under component 2, (Productive Safety Net) are under implementation which include activities that support resilience building at the community level and provide access to livelihood-enhancing opportunities for beneficiaries. As planned the pilot PSN will provide the poorest households of selected communities with temporary employment in public works during the lean season (between January and July), skills training, and access to financial services by connecting them to financial service providers. The Baseline research, Public Works Community Action Plans have been completed.
