The beneficiaries, under the Ministry of Finance leadership have substantially advanced in preparing Terms of References, and started implementation under the three major components of the project. Authorities need to design and launch public awareness activities for project and reform activities, update the Country Action Plan for corporate financial reporting reforms, and progress on preparing for the next stage of financial reporting reform that needs substantial lead time to prepare and secure funding. The National Accounting Council has prepared a set of new amendments to the accounting law, which were extensively discussed with the World 10/17/2017 Page 1 of 5

The final version of the draft law is expected to be distributed soon by the MoF for comments to various stakeholders, and upon inclusion of comments submit the draft law for approval in the Government and subsequently in the Parliament. Also, the amendments to Audit law were adopted by Parliament in April 2017, paving the pay for implementation of activities under enforcement component related to audit public oversight.
