1 MID CENTRAL GOVERNING BOARD MEETING Minutes Of The The Mid-Central Educational Cooperative s Governing Board met in regular session at the Mid-Central Coop in Platte, SD on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, with Vice Chairman Brandon York calling the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. with the following members present: Board Members: Tina Westendorf (Armour), Brandon York (Burke), Chad Clites (Corsica-Stickney), Tim Neugebauer (Ethan), Sharon Pederson (Gregory), Lisa Pazour (Kimball), Ryan Youngstrom (Mount Vernon), and Tammie Olson (Platte-Geddes) and Jim Munsen (White Lake). Superintendents: Burke, Corsica-Stickney, Ethan, Mt. Vernon, Plankinton, Wessington Springs, White Lake, and Wolsey Wessington. Others Present: Robert Krietlow (Mid Central), Merna Bye (Mid Central), Catrina Brown (Mid Central), Casey Bailey (Mid Central), Penny McCormick-Gilles (Mid Central), Christy Finney (Mid Central), and Scott Swier via conference call (Swier Law Firm). Approve Agenda: Motion by Platte-Geddes and seconded by Kimball to approve the agenda with moving item 12. Executive Session to take place after item 3. Approving the Agenda. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Executive Session as per SDCL (1) & (3) Motion by White Lake and seconded by Armour to enter into Executive Session as per SDCL (1) & (3) at 10:07 a.m. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Vice Chairman Brandon York declared an end to Executive Session at 11:09 a.m. a. Action as appropriate No action taken. Conflict of Interest Declarations. No action taken as there were no waivers presented. Approve Minutes from February 16, 2017 Board Meeting: Motion by Platte-Geddes and seconded by White Lake to approve the minutes from the February 16, 2017 Board Meeting. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Approve February Financial Report: Motion by Kimball and seconded by Platte-Geddes to approve the financial report ending February 28th, Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Approve March Bills: Motion by Corsica-Stickney and seconded by Gregory to approve the March bills. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Update on Grants: a. Carol M. White Grant

Director s Report: Motion by Gregory and seconded by White Lake to approve the leave request form for Valerie Johnson to attend the 2017 SD Special Education Conference and the SDCASE Professional Meeting on March 20, 2017 and March 21, Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Motion by Platte-Geddes and seconded by Kimball to approve the contract addendum for Sona Kott to continue to provide Occupational Therapy services through June 30, Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Vice Chairman Brandon York read a letter of resignation from Christy Finney which will take in effect on March 31, The board would like to thank Christy for the years of service as an administrative assistant.
