6 Supplementary Insurance Yu use this cmpnent t prcess cntributins t supplementary elements f the public husing fund and f scial insurance types. The supplementary elements enable yu t meet requirements that are nt cvered in the fllwing Payrll: China cmpnents: Public Husing Fund Scial Insurance Fr example, yu can use this cmpnent t prcess cntributins t a public husing fund required by yur lcal gvernment. The functins in this cmpnent enable yu t d the fllwing in accrdance with business and legal requirements in China: Define supplementary insurance types fr the public husing fund and scial insurance in accrdance with lcal gvernment regulatins r yur cmpany requirements. Fr each f these insurance types yu can specify factrs that influence the cntributin such as cntributin rate, cnstant and frequency. Fr mre infrmatin, see Custmizing fr Supplementary Insurance. Manage emplyee master data abut supplementary insurance types using the Supplementary Insurance (3532) inftype. The data in this inftype determines hw the system calculates cntributins during the payrll run. Fr mre infrmatin, see Supplementary Insurance (Inftype 3532). Calculate cntributins fr specific supplementary insurance types. Yu can use custmer-specific wage types t stre the cntributin amunts. Fr mre infrmatin, see Calculatin. 7 A set f master data relating t cntributins t supplementary insurance in China. Yu use this inftype t recrd the cntributin t a specific type f supplementary insurance. The system uses the infrmatin specified in this inftype t calculate cntributins t supplementary insurance as fllws: = cntributin base x cntributin rate + cnstant Structure T enable the system t assign cntributins t a particular emplyee, each emplyee receives an accunt number, which yu recrd in this inftype. By default, the system uses the persnal ID number in the Persnal IDs (0185) inftype, but yu can change it as required. The system uses the number fr varius purpses, which depend n the type f supplementary insurance. Fr example, the system can use the number as the unique identificatin number f the emplyee's accunt r the identificatin number f the emplyee with the external institutin that hlds the insurance accunt. Yu als stre the reasn why the accunt status changes. Fr example, if the emplyee leaves the cmpany, the accunt status can change. Yu define the change reasns in Custmizing fr Payrll: China under Define Reasns fr Change. Yu als use the inftype t stre and display data abut supplementary insurance cntributins as fllws: Task Grup Bx Descriptin Specify the factrs that determine the cntributin Determine which party makes cntributins Scale Payment Settings The cntributin scale determines the cntributin base, rate, and cnstant fr an emplyee based n the settings that yu make in Custmizing. Yu can determine whether the emplyer, emplyee, r bth parties make cntributins fr supplementary insurance. The settings that yu make in this sectin determine wh actually makes the cntributins int supplementary insurance. Fr example, if yu specify that the emplyer is the payer, the emplyer pays bth emplyee and emplyer cntributins. Yu can als set up the system s that it des nt calculate any cntributin fr a specific emplyee. (C) SAP AG 7

The system displays this data accrding t the start date f their validity perid. Yu cannt change this data n the inftype screen. The system displays these sectins nly if yu select a cntributin payment setting ther than N. Only cntributin data fr which yu specified a value in Custmizing is displayed. Nte that the cntributin amunts that the system calculates based n these settings may differ frm the amunts that the emplyee r the emplyer pays. 9 Purpse Custmizing Settings Yu define supplementary insurance types in the system. The system uses these insurance types as subtypes f the Supplementary Insurance (3532) inftype. Define Supplementary Insurance Types Yu define the cntributin area, type, grup and level settings. The system uses these settings t determine which cntributins calculatin settings are relevant fr a given emplyee. Yu define the cntributin calculatin settings such as the cntributin base, rate, and cnstant, the wage types in which the system stres the cntributins and any custmer-specific lgic fr cntributin calculatin r runding rules. Yu define data abut the supplementary insurance authrity which manages the insurance cntributins. 10 The system uses this prcess t calculate cntributins t supplementary insurance during the payrll run. Prcedure The system calculates supplementary insurance cntributins fr a payrll perid as fllws: 1. Checks each subtype f the Supplementary Insurance (3532) inftype. Frm each subtype that has a valid recrd in the given payrll perid, the system reads the emplyee's cntributin scale and payment settings. 2. Based n the emplyee's cntributin scale, the system reads the cntributin base, cntributin rate and cntributin cnstant settings fr emplyee and emplyer cntributins. Yu specify the cntributin details in Custmizing fr Payrll: China under Supplementary Insurance Define Base, Rate, r Cnstant. 3. Checks whether the emplyee cntributin base r the emplyer cntributin base lies utside the lw r high limits fr the emplyee and emplyer base amunts. 4. Runds the emplyee and emplyer base amunts accrding t the base amunt runding rules. 5. Depending n whether the emplyer, the emplyee, r bth f them pay cntributins, the system calculates the cntributins accrding t the fllwing frmulas: Emplyee cntributin = emplyee cntributin base x emplyee cntributin rate + emplyee cntributin cnstant Emplyer cntributin = emplyer cntributin base x emplyer cntributin rate + emplyer cntributin cnstant 6. If the system des nt calculate the cntributins n a mnthly basis, the system prrates the cntributin amunt accrding t prratin rules. Yu define the cntributin prratin rule in Custmizing fr Payrll: China under Supplementary Insurance Define Base, Rate, r Cnstant. 7. Runds the emplyee and emplyer cntributin amunts accrding t cntributin amunt runding rules. 8. Determines the actual cntributin amunts fr emplyees and emplyers accrding t the settings in Payment Settings grup bx in the Supplementary Insurance (3532) Inftype. 9. Stres the cntributin amunts in the wage types yu define in Custmizing fr Payrll China under Assign Wage Types fr Supplementary Insurance and saves them in the internal table IT. 10. If the cntributin is pre tax, subtracts the emplyee cntributin amunt frm the Taxable Salary (/103) wage type. (C) SAP AG 10

11 Mre Infrmatin Example: Calculatin System dcumentatin fr the CNSUI functin Example: Calculatin Prcedure One f yur emplyees, Wang Ming, wrks in Shanghai. Based n cmpany requirements, yu make supplementary insurance cntributins fr this emplyee. The system calculates Wang Ming's supplementary insurance cntributins fr January 2011 as fllws: 1. Reads Wang Ming s cntributin scale and his payment settings fr January 2010 frm the SPHF subtype f the Supplementary Insurance (3532) inftype. Accrding t the settings in the inftype, Wang Ming belngs t cntributin area SH, cntributin type 01, cntributin grup GR01, and cntributin level 01. The payment settings shw that bth Wang Ming and the emplyer pay cntributins t the supplementary public husing fund. 2. Reads the settings that yu have made fr this cntributin scale in Custmizing fr Payrll: China under Supplementary Insurance Define Base, Rate, r Cnstant. The system retrieves the fllwing data fr bth emplyee and emplyer cntributins: Emplyer Base Emplyee Base Emplyer Rate Emplyee Rate Emplyer Cnstant Emplyee Cnstant RMB 7000 Accrding t the Custmizing settings, the system reads the emplyee's average salary frm the previus year, which is stred in the /365 wage type. The system retrieves an amunt f RMB 7000 frm the wage type. Since this amunt lies within the high and lw limits fr cntributin base amunts, the system uses it as the base amunt t calculate the cntributins. 6% N value (C) SAP AG 11

Calculates the cntributins accrding t the fllwing frmulas: Emplyee cntributin = emplyee cntributin base x emplyee cntributin rate + emplyee cntributin cnstant Emplyer cntributin = emplyer cntributin base x emplyer cntributin rate + emplyer cntributin cnstant The system calculates the 6% f RMB 7000, and determines that bth emplyer and emplyee cntributins equal RMB 420 per mnth. 4. Stres the cntributin amunt in the wage types that yu have specified in Custmizing fr Payrll: China under Supplementary Insurance Assign Wage Types fr Supplementary Insurance. Because, in Wang Ming's case, bth the emplyee and the emplyer make cntributins t the supplementary public husing fund, the system stres the cntributin amunt f RMB 420 in each f the fllwing wage types: Emplyee Wage types /3S1 and /3S3 Emplyer Wage types /3S2 and /3S4 5. Checks the tax settings that yu specify in Custmizing fr Payrll: China under Supplementary Insurance Assign Wage Types fr Supplementary Insurance. Accrding t the tax settings, the cntributins are nt subject t tax. Therefre, the system deducts the cntributin amunts frm the emplyee's taxable salary, which is stred in wage type /103, befre it calculates incme tax. Mre Infrmatin Calculatin (C) SAP AG 12
