2 MEMORANDUM TO: FROM: Commissioner David Martin, Chairperson Community and Economic Development Committee Derek Bradshaw, Director-Coordinator Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission DATE: January 4, 2017 SUBJECT: Household Hazardous Waste Collection Services Contract Extension Genesee County is currently under contract with ERG Environmental Services to provide Household Hazardous Waste Collection Services for the period of March 18, 2016 through March 18, GCMPC is very impressed with the services that have been provided for the 2016 Recycle Day events by ERG and would like to extend the contract. The current contract allows for 3 additional 1-year extensions. GCMPC is in the process of planning events for May, August and October of 2017 and the extension would allow planning activities to commence. At this time, staff is recommending approval from the Community and Economic Development Committee to enter into a contract extension with ERG Environmental Services to perform HHW Collection Services for one additional year which will expire on March 18, K:\cd\CDMTG\C&ED\2017\HHW Extension 2017.docx VIII A
3 AMENDMENT TO PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION SERVICES CONTRACT This Amendment is effective, and is between Genesee County, Michigan, a Michigan municipal corporation whose principal place of business is located at 1101 Beach Street, Flint, Michigan (the County ), and ERG Environmental Services, whose principal place of business is located at Merriman Road, Suite 200, Livonia, MI (the Contractor ) (the Contractor and the County together, the Parties ). WHEREAS, the Parties executed a Professional Services Contract for Household Hazardous Waste Collection Services effective March 18, 2016 (the Agreement ), pursuant to which the Contractor would provide staff and equipment to collect, manage and recycle or dispose of household hazardous waste collected at special events held by the County per Resolution #16-83; and WHEREAS, the Parties wish to amend the Agreement to extend the term and conditions of the Agreement. NOW THEREFORE, the Parties agree as follows: 1. The Term of the Agreement is hereby extended by a period of one year, ending on March 18, 2018 per Genesee County Board of Commissioners Resolution #. 2. Item 5 Compensation, page 2 of the original agreement will be changed to read as follows: Unit Rate: The Contractor shall be paid according to the rates identified in Exhibit C. The Contractor must provide to the County monthly invoices in a form acceptable to the County, along with any necessary supporting documentation such as disposal documentation, etc. The County will pay the Contractor within sixty (60) days of the County s acceptance of the invoice and supporting documentation. 3. 5 MEMORANDUM TO: FROM: Commissioner David Martin, Chairperson Community and Economic Development Committee Derek Bradshaw, Director-Coordinator Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission January 4, 2017 SUBJECT: Latex Paint Recycling Services Contract Extension Genesee County is under contract with epaint, LLC to provide latex paint collection, transportation, and recycling services in cooperation with Habitat for Humanity. The current contract expired on September 30, 2016 and provides the option for 3 additional 1-year extensions. Household latex paint is dropped off by residents at the Genesee County Habitat for Humanity ReStore, where it is then collected by epaint and transported to Battle Creek for recycling. Once recycled, epaint delivers the recycled paint back to the ReStore to sell to local residents. Over the last year, almost 13,000 gallons of latex paint have been recycled through this program. At this time, staff is recommending approval from the Community and Economic Development Committee to enter into a contract extension with epaint, LLC to perform latex paint recycling services for one additional year which will expire on September 30, K:\cd\CDMTG\C&ED\2017\Latex Paint Recycling Extension.docx VIII B
