We can arrange cover for the following: Individuals Teams, Clubs and Leagues Associations Event Organisers Sponsors Our main speciality is Personal Accident cover, consisting of several products such as; Accidental Death, Death by Natural Causes, Permanent Total Disablement, Temporary Total Disablement and Catastrophe Coverage. However, we can arrange protection for all risk exposures within Professional Sport and frequently place products such as Liability, Property, Medical Expenses, Travel, Contingency and Kidnap and Ransom. Whatever the sport and whatever the risk, we will strive to find a competitive solution to your Insurance needs.

7 Personal Accident Products Accidental Death Provides a benefit payable as a tax-free lump sum if the Insured suffers a death by an accidental bodily injury. The policies are typically written on a 24 hour, worldwide basis including whilst on International duty. Example: A professional athlete losing their life in a car accident. Death by Natural Causes Offering a benefit payable as a tax-free lump sum to the beneficiary if the insured suffers a death by natural cause - for example death following a heart attack or cancer. Example: A professional athlete suffering respiratory failure, leading to cardiac arrest and their death. Permanent Total Disablement (also known as Career-Ending Protection) This cover provides a benefit payable as a tax-free lump sum following an accidental bodily injury or sickness, which permanently ends the career of the Insured. The policies are typically written on a 24 hour, worldwide basis including whilst on International duty. Example: A professional athlete suffering a serious knee injury and being unable to return to full fitness, therefore resulting in the end of their professional career. Temporary Total Disablement (also known as Wage Protection) Offers compensation equivalent to the Insureds salary or less following an accidental bodily injury and/or sickness that temporarily prevents the Insured from continuing their career. An agreed Excess Period would be applied - typically 30 to 90 days each and every loss and an agreed Benefit Period would be payable - for example 52 weeks or 104 weeks. Examples: A professional athlete suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament meaning they could be out of action for around 6 months. A motor racing driver suffering a serious head injury following a collision and being unable to compete for a significant portion of the season. Catastrophe Coverage Offering an agreed benefit payable as a tax-free lump sum to the club or national association in the event of a catastrophic disaster resulting in the death and/or permanent total disablement by an accidental bodily injury of an agreed number of player s. Example: An aeroplane carrying a squad of professional athletes crashing, leading to a significant number of fatalities.

It s extremely important that the appropriate protection is in place against claims by third parties, particularly as there is usually significant numbers of people visiting professional sport facilities and Stadia. 10 Claims The broking team are backed up by one of the most highly respected claims team in the market, the majority of staff have been with the company for over 10 years and are well known for their ability to settle claims efficiently and professionally. Amongst many of the complex claims they have handled was the World Trade Centre loss for the world s largest financial services house where the claim was settled 6 months ahead of any other major WTC settlement in the market. There is a very strong claims ethos within Lockton. Our Claims approach is built upon an inclusive and integrated basis, thus ensuring that our claims specialists have been involved in the programme design well before a major loss occurs. This allows for any potential problems to be addressed before, rather than after the event. Strategic claims management is essential in handling any loss for our clients, whether on a layered or single policy programme. Of course, our ultimate role in the claims arena is heavily dependent upon the final programme structure, level of self-insured retention and similar considerations but notwithstanding any such factors, we are above all our clients advocates in the Insurance market.
