1 FD SAMBA 6 CAMPAIGN (Conventional) Terms and Conditions 1. These Terms & Conditions shall govern the Fixed Deposit (FD) SAMBA 6 Campaign ( Campaign ) commencing from 23 rd May 2014 until 30 th June 2014 (or upon reaching the campaign set target, whichever is earlier) ( Campaign Period ). 2. The Campaign is opened to all new FD placements by new and existing customers under the Conventional Scheme ( Customers ). 3. To participate in the Campaign, the minimum placement amount is: RM10,000 in a single certificate for Retail/Individual customers RM25,000 in a single certificate for SME/BB, Sole Proprietor, Partnership, Club/Societies/Association. 4. There is no maximum placement amount imposed for each customer. 5. Only customers who make new placement of fresh funds during the Campaign Period shall be entitled to the promotional rates during the Campaign Period. 6. The promotional interest rates are as follows :- Notes Tenure Promotional Rates Effective Rate *Prevailing Board Rate 1st 2nd Month 3rd 4th Month 5th Month 6th Month 3.10% p.a. 3.15% p.a. 3.20% p.a. 5.60% p.a. 3.55% p.a. 3.10% p.a. a) *Prevailing Board Rate refers to the board rate at the time of placement. b) In the event customer uplifts the FD before maturity, the following rules shall apply, i.e.; a) No interest will be paid on any 1 month, 2 months, 3 months deposit that has not run the full period. b) No interest will be paid on any other FD for tenure 3 months and above if uplifted before the completion of 3 months. c) Other than in the circumstances mentioned in (a) and (b) above, interest is payable for the completed months for which the funds have been deposited which are as follows:- The rate payable for a FD uplifted before the completed period shall be ½ the original contracted rate for each completed month. The promotional rate is subject to any Overnight Policy Rate ( OPR ) change. 8. The Campaign is available for placements made over the counter only at any Maybank Branch in Malaysia. 9. Upon maturity of the FD, the placement rates shall revert to the prevailing board rates for the respective tenures. 10. Maybank reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions contained herein, wholly or in part at any time. Any amendments to the Terms & Conditions will be notified to the Customers via Maybank.com or through branches twenty one (21) days prior to the incorporation of the said amendments. 11. By participating in the Campaign, the Customers agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions herein set forth including any amendment(s) thereto. 12. Maybank shall not be responsible and / or liable nor shall it accept any form of liability whatsoever nature and howsoever arising or suffered by Customers resulting directly or indirectly from the Customers participation in the Campaign or otherwise. Furthermore, Maybank shall not be liable for any default of its obligation under the Campaign due to any force majeure event which include but not limited to act of God, war, riot, lockout, industrial action, fire, flood, drought, storm or any event beyond the reasonable control of Maybank. Maybank, at its discretion may withdraw, cancel or suspend the Campaign earlier than the Campaign Period or extend the Campaign beyond the Campaign Period and shall be subject to the availability of fund or campaign period by giving 21 days prior notice. 14. By participating with this campaign, customer agrees to access Maybank website at on regular basis to view the terms and conditions and to ensure that they are kept-up-to-date with any changes or variations made to the terms and conditions. 15. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the Laws of Malaysia and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Malaysia. Eligible for protection by PIDM 3

4 IFD-i Samba 6 Campaign Terms and Conditions 1. These Terms & Conditions shall govern the IFD-i Samba 6 Campaign ( Campaign ) commencing from 23 rd May 2014 until 30 th June 2014 (or upon reaching the campaign set target, whichever is earlier.) ( Campaign Period ). 2. The Campaign is open to all new Islamic Fixed Deposit-i (IFD-i) placements by new and existing Individual and Business customers of Malayan Banking Berhad and Maybank Islamic Berhad ( Maybank Group ) i.e. Small Medium Enterprise (SME), Business Banking (BB), Sole Proprietor, Partnership, Clubs, Societies and Associations ( Customers ). 3. To participate in the Campaign, the minimum placement amount according to the respective customer and account type are as follows:- Customer / Account Type Individual SME/BB Sole-Proprietorship, Partnership, Clubs, Societies, Associations Minimum Placement Amount in a Single Certificate RM10,000 RM25,000 RM25,000 Maximum Placement Amount in a Single Certificate No limit 4. There is no maximum placement amount imposed to all eligible customers. 5. Only new placement of fresh funds during the Campaign Period shall be entitled to special rates during the Campaign Period. 6. Each promotional tenure will be held separately. Details of the promotional rates and campaign period are as follows: Tenure Promotional Rate Effective Rate 1st 2nd Month 3.10% p.a. 3rd 4th Month 3.15% p.a. 5th Month 3.20% p.a. 3.55% 6th Month 5.60% p.a. 7. The promotional rates are subject to any Overnight Policy Rate ( OPR ) change during the Campaign Period. Any change in the OPR will be applicable to new placement thereafter. 8. This Campaign is available for placements made via over the counter only. 9. Upon maturity of the IFD-i, the placement rates shall revert to the prevailing Islamic board rates for the respective tenures. Please log-on to to view the prevailing Islamic board rates. 5 10. In the event that the Customer uplifts the IFD-i prior to maturity, the customer hereby agrees to provide rebate (ibra ) based on the following rules: a. No profit is to be paid on any 3 months and below placement that has not run the full period; b. No profit is to be paid on any other IFD-i if uplifted before the completion of 3 months; c. Other than in the circumstances mentioned in (a) and (b) above, only 50% of accrued profit will be paid based on actual number of placement days. 11. The Bank reserves the rights to withdraw, cancel, suspend, extend or terminate this Campaign earlier in whole or in part and the Bank reserves the right to vary, supplement, delete, amend or modify any of the Terms and Conditions from time to time by giving at least minimum of twenty one (21) calendar days prior notice thereof and the notice shall be posted through our website at or through any other channel or channels that the Bank may deem as appropriate. 12. By participating in this Campaign, the Customers hereby duly agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions herein set forth. 13. These Terms & Conditions shall be supplemental to the existing Terms and Conditions governing Banking Accounts for Islamic Banking and Terms and Conditions for Murabahah Term Deposit transaction. These Terms and Conditions shall prevail over any provisions or representatives contained in any promotional materials (including without limitation printed posters or leaflets) advertising this Campaign. 14. Subject to Shariah and Bank Negara Malaysia s (BNM) requirement, the Bank shall not be responsible and / or liable nor shall it accept any form of liability whatsoever nature and howsoever arising or suffered by Customers resulting directly or indirectly from the Customers participation in the Campaign or otherwise. Furthermore, the Bank shall not be liable for any default in respect of the Campaign due to any act of God, war, riot, lockout, industrial action, fire, flood, drought, storm or any event beyond the reasonable control of the Bank. 15. The Bank reserves the rights to amend the Terms & Conditions contained herein, wholly or in part at any time and to end the Campaign earlier or extend it further at its absolute discretion and shall provide notification of the same to the Customers pursuant to clause 11 of these Terms & Conditions in line with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and Shariah requirement. 16. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the Laws of Malaysia and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian Courts. Eligible for protection by PIDM 2
