8 Voter Registration We seek your support in getting Veterans and their families registered to vote this year. This year s election is an important one for veterans and their families. The Veterans of Foreign Wars was founded to be a politically active force in gaining care and support for the Veterans and the widows and children of Veterans of this nation. We have an obligation to those who came before us and those who will follow in our footsteps to be active in the political process. National has asked our Posts to hold voter outreach and hold candidate forums or candidate meet and greets. By holding candidate forums or candidate meet and greets at our Post homes we are able to quiz the candidates as to their positions on Veterans issues. Candidates at all levels whether running for city, county, state and federal positions need to know that Veterans and their families have concerns that need to be addressed. With less than two months till the General Election on November 8 th, we ask that each Post hold a Voter registration drive this month. You can get registration forms from the County Recorder s Office, or go to the Arizona Secretary of State website:
