Let start backwards: On August 20th, The Canadian Human Rights Museum stamp was released.. A booklet containing 10 Permanent stamps was issued: $8.50. 6 SCANDINAVIAN COLLECTORS CLUB OPEN HOUSE SEPTEMBER 24TH, 2014 The Scandinavian Collectors Club of Manitoba was formed on November 23 rd, 1988 and became Chapter 24 of the SCC, an international philatelic body on October 10 th, The objectives of the club are to foster the study of and research into the postal history and stamps of the Nordic countries of Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland and Sweden and their present and former colonies. The club also provides the facilities for study and research and assists members in such study and research. Each year the club holds an open house at the start of the collecting year to provide a forum for interested parties to find out about our operation and to meet our members. This year the open house will be held on Wednesday, September 14 th at 7:30 p.m. in the upstairs hall of the Scandinavian Centre at 764 Erin Street. The doors will be open at 7 p.m. Our open house will feature free stamp giveaways, displays, a stamp quiz, as well as a guest speaker. A coffee break with Scandinavian delicacies will be offered to all who attend. The Club has been meeting at the Centre since its inception and is entering its 27 th year.
