3 Lancaster County Philatelic Society President s Message It is my great pleasure to welcome each of you to Lancopex 2017, our 32 nd year of our regional stamp show. Over time this event has certainly grown, currently hosting twenty dealers or more and enjoying numerous stamp and cover displays from our club members. This year we have both returning dealers and new dealers, many I have come to know as friends. They are a great group of folks and assure me that their stock books are bulging, and they have deals for everyone. Also featured will be the USPS Tables with the latest offerings from the post office. Like the stamp dealers, they are bringing tables full of the latest stamps and postal products. The Youth Table awaits your kids with free stamps, albums, and supplies. We encourage you to bring the children and their friends, as young collectors represent the future of the philatelic hobby. Our youth specialists will see that they get off to an encouraging and exciting start in their collecting. If stamp shows had an award for food, Lancopex would be the winner. Club member Len Kasper & Family have catered our lunches, snacks, and drinks for the last several years. It is the best tasting homemade food in town. Give it a try. Check out our revised website: Dr. DiComo has worked many hours over the last month to update the site to include club information, exhibits, presentations, newsletters, club history, links, and so much more. He is also updating and maintaining our Facebook page, so consider visiting these sites to find out more about the exciting things going on in our club. Please be sure to visit the PSLC Courtesy Booth and talk with club members. Our 2017 show cover with special cachet and cancel are on sale, and membership information is available. We would like to get to know you and introduce ourselves. The club meets the second Wednesday of the month (except August) at 7:00 PM in Bluebird Commons at Woodcrest Villa, 2001 Harrisburg Avenue, Lancaster, PA. If you would like an opinion of your old stamps and envelopes, bring them to the club, and we ll help you sort them out. Finally, I want to extend my appreciation to those who have made Lancopex-2017 possible, including all the show committee members and volunteers, exhibitors, dealers, first timers, The Guest are always welcome and membership is open to all stamp collectors, regardless of expertise.
