2 A Message from the Penn State Actuarial Science Club The Penn State Actuarial Science Club is pleased and excited to host the 2018 Penn State Actuarial Career Fair. We are very eager to welcome you all to our event. The Penn State Actuarial Science Club is a student-run organization for those interested in pursuing an actuarial degree. A career in the actuarial field is diverse and can vary from consulting to health care to auto insurance. Nevertheless, whichever field you chose to explore, there will be a large demand for extensive knowledge of math, economics, finance, and risk management in the business world. Although challenging, a career in Actuarial Science is very rewarding for those who enjoy problem solving. The club aims to provide students with a better understanding of the actuarial field while providing guidance into launching a professional career. Students have the ability to meet professional actuaries as well as other actuarial students. Students are exposed to real life actuarial applications and are provided with study resources for actuarial exams. 7 Actuarial Leadership Development Program Start Date: January 7th, 2019 or June 10th, 2019 In this program, you ll begin as an actuarial analyst and work to pass Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams to become a Fellow of SOA. While rotating through major business areas, you will develop the skills required to become a future risk-assessing leader at Aetna. What to expect: A 6-year rotational program consisting of four 18-month assignments Career and leadership development opportunities, networking events, and support from a mentor Dedicated paid study hours during the work week and a raise for each SOA exam that you pass Actuarial Internship Program Dates: May 20th, August 9th, 2019 This program doesn t just help you develop actuarial skills; it accelerates your development.
