3 A W o r d F r o m o u r p r e s i d e n t Well, Sponsored By Another South Texas State Fair is in the books. We processed about 30 lost kids this year and I m happy to report that we managed to give them all away! I want to thank each and every one of the volunteer s that helped out this year. We had plenty of help for the whole run of the Fair. We logged over 300 volunteer hours again this year! To all the new people, If you missed the busy days be sure to come back next year. There are sure to be plenty of lost kids next year too! Again Thank you all!! As you all know by now April 18th is coming up fast, time for Cops & Kids. This year promises to be the city s biggest one yet. We need EVERYONE we can muster. I know we have had plenty of volunteer s sign up already but certainly could use more. If you haven t signed up we could sure use your help. Get with Doug if you think you can help out. As always you can call me if you have any questions. The Event Center will be closed to the public. Volunteer assignments should be finished by this week by Cindy & Doug and we will pass that info along as soon as we have it. This months Guest Speaker is John Paskell, President of the Beaumont Better Business Bureau. The topic will be on Scams and how to avoid them. Scams are everywhere you turn these days, there are at least 7 pages on their website detailing the different types of scams currently operating.
