5 FALL AUCTION RESULTS The Fall auction went off without a hitch due to the many volunteers. Thank you to all of you who set up tables and the lots and those of you who helped place the tables & chairs back after the auction. A Big thank you goes to Robert Zacharias for all his work organizing the lots, typing them in to produce the lot listing and data for tabulation. It is a huge job. We had 3 great auctioneers, Al, Ken, & Sid. Debbie organized the lots as they were being sold, Dianne took care of the coffee. Russ handled the absentee bids. Gerry, Judy & Robert were cashing out, and Judy, Robert and Michael were tabulating the results. And of course thank you to those who placed items into the auction and those of you who came out to bid. If it wasn t for you, there would be no auction. If I missed anyone, I apologize. We had 49 sellers and 38 bidders in total which included 5 non-member first time bidders. A total of 370 lots were up for grabs of which 285 sold. That s a ratio of 77% which is slightly higher than the last couple auctions. Sales reached $6,181 thanks to all you bidders. As a comparison, last spring sales were $5,401 and last fall sales were $6,185 which is almost identical to this fall. Although we did have a higher sold ratio this time round. Mike A portion of the audience Lots and Lots of Lots And still more lots Al Wingate speaking about a recent purchase he made if the 14c Parliament stamp and the mis-alignment of the printing to the perforation and tagging.
