18 Salary and Payslip Salary is at disposal at the very last banking day of the month Tax is deducted before the salary is paid out to you You have to register with SKAT (tax authorities) in advance (if not, you ll be taxed 55%!!) 25 How do I get around Aarhus and DK? Public transport (bus, train, metro) or APP to find connections from A to B Local and regional transport (bus / commuter trains) Buy a 10-trip bus pass ( klippekort ) valid for both regional trains and busses Possible to buy tickets (cash only, no credit cards) on busses, but not on trains Penalty fees: 750 DKK! National connections (train/bus): (trains), DSB APP or (bus). Buy tickets in advance (online), seat reservations are recommended Be like a Dane get a bike: Buy at a large supermarket (Føtex, Kvickly or Bilka), app. DKK (cheap bike) 26
