Volunteer Appreciation Nominations - Applications are now being accepted for Midway's Volunteer of the Year. If you would like to nominate someone as the 2017 Volunteer of the Year please drop-off or send your nominations to the Village Office by Thursday, August 17, 2017 at noon. This year's Volunteer Appreciation BBQ will be on Saturday, September 9, BCRCC - Kendra Begg, Executive Director of the Boundary Country Regional Chamber of Commerce, introduced herself to Council and advised that the BCRCC provides an information hub for local business owners, investors, and residents. Anyone or any business interested in joining the BCRCC can contact Kendra at or info@boundarychamber.com Blue Tongue Disease in Deer - Environment Canada is concerned that there is Blue Tongue Disease in deer in the area. Blue tongue disease is a non-contagious, insect-borne, viral disease of ruminants (mammals such as deer, cattle, and sheep) and does not affect humans or other domestic animals. If you find a dead deer in your yard please contact one of the following numbers and they will come and take the deer and have it tested: Penticton Office: Craig Office Phone: After Hours: Nelson Office: Aaron Office Phone: After Hours: Radon Test Results - The office has been advised that some residents who sent away a Radon test kit have not received their results yet. These test results should have been sent to the or address provided by the individual on the information sheet and will not be sent to the Village Village of Midway 1

The Village will purchase a 1/2 page ad in the 2018 Kettle Valley Express for $1, The new Village of Midway website is now live at midwaybc.ca. Tony of Munday Media & Design and the branding committee did an excellent job of identifying the attributes that best describe Midway that resulted in the new brand and website. The Village received $11, from the BC Rural Dividend program to create the unique brand identity and marketing tools for business and tourism. Greenwood: Tuesday & Friday 10am-4pm and Saturday 9am-4pm Information for people with diabetes using NovoPen Echo or NovoPen5 - Health Canada is advising Canadians that Novo Nordisk A/S has updated a voluntary recall of insulin cartridge holders used in certain lots of its NovoPen Echo and NovoPen 5 insulin pens. The company detected that the cartridge holders may crack or break if exposed to certain chemicals, such as some cleaning agents. What you should do: - Do not stop treatment without consulting your health care professional. - Contact Novo Nordisk Customer Service in order to receive an unaffected cartridge holder for your NovoPen Echo or NovoPen 5 product, or if you have any questions about this recall.
