Primary circulatin categries: a) Circulatins will be reprted in fur primary categries: Paid Single Cpies Paid Subscriptins Paid Multiple Cpies Cpies Thse titles with Membership Cpies (frmerly referred t as Sciety Cpies) will have these reprted as a primary categry. 2. Retail sales - simplify rate bands reprted a) Change frm 4 analysed rate bands t 3 b) Allw print cpies sld at less than 20% t be reprted (currently nly digital can). Current Frm December 2017 perid % 20% 99% f 20-50% Belw 20% f Full rate < 20% (Digital Editin nly) 3. Actively purchased simplify reprting a) All paid retail/single and paid individual subscriptin cpies purchased by an individual will cunt twards Actively Purchased (previusly excluded retail/single cpies sld at less than 20%) b) All Yu Can Read Sales (Digital Editins that a cnsumer has purchased and viewed as part f a multi-publicatin package) will be included as Actively Purchased. 4. Subscriptins simplify rate bands reprted a) Individual subscriptins change frm 5 analysed rate bands t 3 Current Frm December 2017 perid Full rate % 20% 99% f 20-50% Belw 20% f 10-20% Belw 10%

3 b) Multiple Cpy Subscriptins change frm 5 bands t ne d) Paid Subscriptins will be brken ut as fllws: Individual: 20% 99% f Belw 20% f All Yu Can Read Other: Requested Spnsred Subscriptins Multiple Subscriptins Crprate Subscriptins e) Digital Editin Cpies purchased and viewed under a multiple subscriptin package that have histrically been claimed in the less than 20% retail categry will, frm December 2017 perid end be claimed in the All Yu Can Read Sales categry. 5. Retail Sales - multi-packs a) Remve the minimum price requirement t claim multi-packed magazines (highest priced magazine plus 20% f price f any ther ABC claimed magazines in package). 6. Digital Editins simplificatin a) Remve the requirement t capture the name, pstal & addresses fr Digital editin cpies purchased by an individual at less than 20% f cver price/subscriptin rate (i.e. evidence f purchase nly is required). b) Remve minimum price restrictin (20% f subscriptin rate) fr Digital Editin gift subscriptins. c) Paid Multiple Cpies - Digital Editins: - Reprt current Multiple Cpy Business Sales categry under Paid Multiple Cpies. [These are cpies purchased by a 3 rd party and viewed by a cnsumer] - Remve the existing Multiple Cpy Digital Editin sale prvisin (never claimed), which allwed multiple cpies t be claimed if sld fr mre than 20% f cver price AND the individual had requested & been granted access t the title by issue

4 7. Membership Cpies (frmerly Sciety) simplify reprting a) Rename the Sciety categry n certificates t Membership Cpies b) Remve the three sub-categries (Paid Optinal, Unpaid Requested, Nn-ptinal) 8. Cpies a) cpies will be brken ut as fllws n page 2 f certificate: Regular - Net - Grss Sample - Net - Grss Nte: Net refers t circulatin where the claimed cpies are picked up r received by cnsumers (and yu recrd and accunt fr undistributed cpies) Grss refers t circulatin where the claimed cpies are the quantity supplied/distributed (and yu d nt recrd and accunt fr undistributed cpies) Certain categries, such as cntrlled circulatin, are deemed t always be net as they are delivered t individuals. Please refer t specific categry sectins fr details. b) Add new free categry Letterbx Distributin (exists in ABC Reginal Standards) c) cpies will be further brken ut by categries claimed: Cntrlled Nn-Cntrlled Mnitred - Net by Hand Mnitred Net (ther) Mnitred - Grss Letterbx Retail Vucher Sample d) Circulatin in the fllwing free categries will be defined as Regular if the quantities are bradly similar fr the majrity f issues: Cntrlled, Nn-Cntrlled, Letterbx and Retail Vuchers. If nt regular the cpies will be claimed as Sample. e) Fr Cntrlled circulatin requested (where claimed) the age f requests analysis (within 1, 2 r 3 years) becmes ptinal.

Mnitred Distributin (MFD) a) Current requirement t reprt Mnitred Distributin ttals fr each issue becmes ptinal b) The analysis f the number f distributin pints against each audience type/lcatin (e.g. airlines, htels etc.) becmes ptinal c) Replace separate Methd f Distributin Statement and Nrmal Distributin Schedule with summary verview descriptin d) Remve requirement t describe the ABC as distributin as ppsed t circulatin if mre than 80% f ttal is MFD. e) T be defined as regular MFD the amunt the distributin quantity can vary (cmpared t average f the previus fur issues) increases frm 10% t 25%. f) Remve the requirement fr ABC t pre-apprve systems befre distributin is claimed (this is tested at audit). Hwever still need t infrm ABC if cmmencing MFD. g) Remve the requirement t ntify ABC f all changes in distributin. Infrmatin must be prvided n request by ABC. 10. Sample Distributin a) Remve the reprting f the distributin date field and number f distributin pints frm the issue by issue analysis f Sample Distributin. [Nte: This infrmatin culd be included ptinally] 11. Duplicatin level change way duplicates treated a) Remve requirement t reprt a duplicatin level [required if ttal f Single Subs, Sciety, Cntrlled and Nn-Cntrlled cpies is greater than 1% f ttal average] b) Intrduce requirement that duplicate cpies t a knwn individual are nt permitted unless there is a categry available t reprt them (e.g. Paid Multiple Cpies, Multiple Subscriptins) 12. Retail Sales Mre flexibility n accunting fr vucher prmtins a) Vuchers can be accunted fr n a wash-thrugh basis fr titles n all reprting frequencies (currently restricted t titles reprting mnthly nly), prviding the effect f nt making an estimate is unlikely t affect the figures claimed by mre than 2% f the average circulatin.
