Please don t forget GAIP as the summer gets into full swing and mark your calendar ahead of time for meetings. I am looking for a lot of good men/women to fill committee positions. Please if you are interested. This is a good way for all to get involved in some way in GAIP. The board this year has been wonderful in helping to keep GAIP afloat during some difficult times and we hope this next year will be a good one for all. Looking forward to seeing all the leaders of the insurance industry at the Leadership luncheon as well as our Past Presidents! We all have choices and make GAIP a choice this year! We generally meet at the Poinsett Club for our monthly lunch and meeting on the second Thursday of each month. Occasionally this may change when there is a conflict or an additional event. Here are dates to put on your calendar through June of of course, we ll give you more information when it is available. Please plan to be in attendance. 4 Page 4 GREENVILLE ASSOCIATION OF INSURANCE PROFESSIONALS Secretary s Report: Minutes for Monthly Luncheon April 9, 2009 The monthly meeting of the Greenville Association of Insurance Professionals was held at the Poinsett Club. Karin Shore called the meeting to 12:04. The collect was read by Rita Rittlinger. The minutes were approved & will be filed. The Treasurer s report was approved & will be filed for audit. Kathryn asked all committees to be conscious of our budget as we go forward. Committee Reports Ways & Means Jeannie talked about the womanless beauty pageant coming up & asked members to recruit men to participate. She also mentioned selling our Thomas Kincaid raffle tickets at Fall for Freedom Weekend. New Business -Karin announced due to Claire Sizemore s position as Region III VP she will not be able to serve as local President for the coming year. Claire gave her resignation & it was voted on & accepted. -Pat Thompson of the Nominating Committee presented their recommendations for officers for the upcoming year & they were voted on & accepted after no nominations were made from the floor. Officer for are: Karin Shore President Kathryn Buchanan President Elect Becky Bagwell Vice President Rita Rittlinger Secretary Deborah Woody Treasurer -Everyone was reminded to turn in applications for Insurance Professional of the Year, Leadership Award & Rookie of the Year by the deadline of April 16 th. -An announcement was made that Karin Shore was nominated & voted as delegate to the National Convention & Claire Sizemore was nominated & voted as alternate delegate to National. Program Our program this month was a very informative report from Karin about the Region III Conference which was held in Charleston, SC. Announcements -Karin announced that our local association had voted to donate $1,000 to the 2010 Regional to be held in Destin, FL in honor of our own Claire Sizemore who will be the Region III VP for Everyone was reminded that our Council Meeting will be in Florence this year Sept Everyone was also encouraged to attend the National Conference to be held in New Orleans in May. With no further business the meeting was 12:56. Respectfully submitted Rita Rittlinger

NAIW promotes legislative awareness and encourages its members - as individuals - to take an active role in the government of their country. NAIW strives to educate the public on the importance and contributions of the insurance industry to society. Building Alliances NAIW creates and encourages an environment in which its members may build alliances, create personal and professional networks and make connections across diverse career paths and experience levels. Through interaction with other members in all aspects of insurance, NAIW members gain a more complete understanding of the many interconnected facets of the industry. NAIW enables its members to practice their skills and test their own personal and professional adaptability in a supportive environment. NAIW pursues partnerships with educational institutions, industry organization, and other entities with similar missions. NAIW establishes a direct connection between the national organization and each of its individual members in order to better meet the needs of each member. Industry NAIW is positioned as a source of industry expertise, by providing quality education, expanding information about the industry and focusing attention on insurance issues affecting consumers. NAIW pursues partnerships with industry leaders to identify and develop educational opportunities for NAIW members that will ensure the continued success of the insurance industry. NAIW builds alliances with industry leaders to educate them about the association and the benefits it holds for their employees and their organizations. After graduating from Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC, she joined Sullivan Company in In 2005, Clare left to pursue her masters in education. After completing her masters she taught elementary for several years. In 2007, Clare returned to Sullivan Company as a Personal Lines Account Manager. She is a licensed P&C agent and is currently pursuing her CISR designation. Hobbies She enjoys walking her German Shepherd, Broc. And in her free time she likes to read a good book, watch movies, and enjoy coffee with friends!
