4 EMERGENCY Emergency means a situation or scenario which has the potential to cause serious danger to persons, environment or damage to property and which tends to cause disruption inside or outside the premises and may require the help of outside resources. DISASTER A disaster is a serious disruption of the functioning of a community or a society involving widespread human, material, economic or environmental losses and impacts, which exceeds the ability of the affected community or society to cope using its own resources. 4

20 Emergency Preparedness Mock Drills Various scenarios for emergency based on the risk assessment are considered, which are documented and mock response drill are carried out accordingly to see the effectiveness of the same. Mock drill are carried out at all the levels ( Installation level, Onsite and Mutual Aid ) Observers are posted during the drills who give their valuable feed back during the debriefing session for future improvement. District Authorities, State Disaster Management Authority are involved during the drill along with the Mutual Aid partners, Civil Defense, Army, etc. Rescue, relief, Evacuation, etc are done from high rise buildings as a part of the drill.
