Chagig your mid your cacellatio rights This isurace is optioal ad you have a statutory right to cacel your policy durig a period of 30 days (the coolig off period) from the day of purchase of the policy or the day o which you receive your policy, whichever is the later. If you wish to do so, you will be etitled to a full refud of the premium paid. If you have made a claim ad the cacel withi the period above, we may seek to recover ay moies paid to you i settlemet of the claim. Eligibility You are eligible for this isurace if at the start date you: are aged 18 years or over ad uder 65 whe your loa agreemet is due to be repaid; work at least 16 hours per week ad have doe so for at least the last six moths. If you have ot bee workig cotiuously for this period, you may still apply for cover; however, you will ot qualify for ay beefit util you have bee workig cotiuously for at least six moths; live i the UK; ad are the first amed perso o your loa agreemet. For the purposes of this isurace work meas ay paid work of at least 16 hours per week. This icludes self-employed work ad statutory materity ad paretal leave but it does ot iclude temporary work. If you are self-employed or you work o fixed term cotracts you are eligible for this isurace but you should read the policy carefully to make sure it is suitable for your eeds you should pay particular attetio to the Employmet circumstaces, Uemploymet cover ad Thigs to keep i mid whe claimig sectios. Importat otes: 1 If at the start date you are ot i work as you are certified ufit to work by a doctor, you may still apply for cover ad start payig your mothly premiums. However you will eed to have retured to work, free of all symptoms from your origial or related coditio for at least 90 cotiuous days before you ca make a accidet or sickess claim for the same or related coditio. 2 This policy will ot pay for ay uemploymet you were aware of at the start date. You will ot be covered for ay uemploymet which we reasoably believe you kew was likely to happe, whether you had official otice or ot, whe you took out this isurace. 3 This policy will ot pay for ay uemploymet that you were advised of or which happes durig the first 30 days followig the start date, whether you were aware of it or ot at the start date. 4 This policy will ot pay a carer claim if at the start date we reasoably believe you were aware of the eed, or likely eed at ay time i the future, for a member of your immediate family to require a carer or you are otified of receipt of or apply for Carer s Allowace withi the first 30 days of the start date. Chages durig your loa agreemet that may affect your isurace cover It is your resposibility to esure that this policy cotiues to meet your requiremets should your circumstaces chage durig your loa agreemet, as this could affect your eligibility for cover or etitlemet to beefits uder this policy. If this happes or is likely to happe you should discuss this with Satader. This would iclude for example: You retirig from work ad ot itedig to actively seek further work. Chagig your employmet, e.g. your work becomes temporary work. You volutarily reduce your hours of work to less tha 16 hours per week. You reachig 65 years of age. You leave the UK to live abroad. You are off work at the start date with a accidet or sickess ad this prevets you from returig to work. If your employmet chages or is likely to chage or you have ay questios you should cotact Satader. Fixed term cotracts If you work o a fixed term cotract ad your cotract is ot reewed after the ed date you will oly be etitled to claim for uemploymet cover if you meet oe of the followig criteria: you have worked cotiuously for the same employer for at least 24 moths; or your cotract is for at least 12 moths ad has bee reewed at least oce with the same employer; or you were origially employed o a permaet basis but were trasferred to a fixed term cotract by the same employer without a break i employmet. Self-employed We cosider you to be self-employed if you meet oe of the followig criteria: you ca otherwise esure that the compay you work for coducts its affairs accordig to your wishes. If you are self-employed you will eed to provide the followig to be etitled to claim for uemploymet beefit. Satisfactory proof that you: have ivolutarily ceased tradig because you could ot fid eough work to meet all your reasoable busiess ad livig expeses ad have declared this to HM Reveue & Customs; ad are registered as uemployed with the Departmet for Work ad Pesios. Retirig before the age of 65 If you retire before the age of 65 ad do ot ited to actively seek further work, you will o loger be eligible for uemploymet or accidet or sickess cover. 5 Page 5 of 11 Accidet or sickess cover What is covered If a accidet or sickess prevets you workig for more tha 30 days i a row, we will pay: 1/30th of the mothly beefit for each day from the 31st full day you are uable to work up to your ext loa agreemet repaymet date; the the full mothly beefit, at mothly itervals, for each followig moth you are uable to work; the at the ed of your accidet or sickess, we will pay 1/30th of the mothly beefit for each day of your accidet or sickess from the day after you were last paid beefit to the last day of your accidet or sickess, up to a maximum of 12 moths i total. If you retur to work after claimig for accidet or sickess ad the are uable to work withi three moths because of the same accidet or sickess you do ot have to wait before beefits ca be paid. We will combie these two periods ito oe claim whe calculatig your beefit period subject to a maximum beefit of 12 mothly beefit paymets. Oce we have paid the maximum umber of 12 mothly beefit paymets, you eed to retur to work, free of all symptoms ad ot receivig medical treatmet for your origial or related coditio, for at least 6 cosecutive moths before you ca make aother accidet or sickess claim for the same or related coditio. However if your ew claim is for a urelated coditio, you will oly eed to be back at work for 30 days to be eligible to claim agai. Your ow wilful actios, drug or alcohol abuse (this does ot iclude ay drugs prescribed by your doctor, except if they are to treat drug addictio). Self-employed If you are self-employed ad you have ivolutarily ceased tradig because you could ot fid eough work to meet all your reasoable busiess ad livig expeses ad have declared this to HM Reveue & Customs, you will be etitled to claim for uemploymet beefit. If, for the purpose of this isurace you are ot self-employed, all other terms, coditios ad exclusios of this policy will apply. Paymet i lieu of otice If you have bee paid or are etitled to be paid i lieu of otice (istead of workig out a otice period), ay claim for uemploymet, icludig the waitig period, will ot start util the ed of your otice period. This applies to ay oe cotiuous period of accidet or sickess, uemploymet or a period for which you are a carer or a combiatio of all three.
