2 P r e s i d e n t s C o r n e r : A m e s s a g e f r o m J o h n N y h a n John Nyhan President Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce Month four into 2018 and the Chamber is hopping with all that is going on and more to come. Our membership is growing (14) new members since the beginning of the year and two upcoming major events in the planning stages. Our golf outing in May is off to a great start with very few sponsorships left and over (90) golfers signed up already; our Toast to the Coast in June has expanded again this year and will be co-hosting this year s event with the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce along with a new venue Abenaqui Country Club in Rye. We are expecting both to be sold out so if you want to be part of these events, you should sign up soon. Two member programs that are getting a new look is the Member-to-Member discount program and website advertising. We are still on track to meet our goal (40) participating member organizations by the end of April. Please be sure to pass on to all your employees that they are eligible and that you get a discount card at the office. Our web site advertising campaign we are enhancing with the help of a new chamber member Marketing Ally. Please review the insert in with the newsletter for more information. This advertising plan will soon be expanded into our newsletter and special plans are being developed to have an electronic advertising screen at our beach office this summer. Special thanks to my hard working team that has been on full throttle these past few months. With their help, we are continuing to build and enhance our chamber. NEWS FROM WINNACUNNET HIGH SCHOOL BRIGHT FUTURE FOR SEACOAST STARTS WITH SUCCESS OF OUR STUDENTS The school year was a very successful one. With the continuing support and interest of everyone involved in the school community, Winnacunnet High School has been able to achieve the accomplishments listed below: WHS was recognized as the 2017 New Hampshire High School of Excellence. WHS received a Blue Ribbon Achievement Award in recognition of the extraordinary volunteer efforts of Winnacunnet staff and students. WHS received a Gold Circle Award in recognition of the valuable partnerships that Winnacunnet has with local businesses. As part of the Technology Plan, WHS provided Acer c740 Chromebook devices to every member of the Class of 2019 and the Class of Winnacunnet High School represented NH at the New England Secondary School Consortium s regional conference. Winnacunnet received the NHIAA/National Federation of State High School Associations Award of Excellence for exhibiting outstanding sportsmanship for the year.

4 BEACH INFORMATION CENTER OPENING SOON Julie Leonard is missing Hampton Beach and is eager to return from Chicopee, MA, to her cottage at Hampton Beach. She is excited about opening the Beach Information Center on Memorial Day Weekend and invites members to visit and to drop off their promotional materials before the busy summer starts. He talked about the Partial Hospitalization Program and the benefits it has to this community. Here is a recap of what he said at the Business After Hours. The PHP is an evidence-based recovery model to treat individuals who may be struggling with maintaining daily functioning due to symptoms of anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. We help clients to boost coping skills and feel more stable in their lives through group therapy, medication evaluation, and individual/family interventions. We work with you for two to three weeks, Monday through Friday, 8:00a-3:00p to ensure that you have a plan for managing symptoms and effectively utilizing outpatient providers for continued long-term care.
