5 Policies, Refunds, and Cancellations FUEL SURCHARGE Due to the variable price of jet fuel, a fuel surcharge may be issued. Our fuel surcharge is based on a six-month, rounded average of the U.S. Energy Information Administration s US Gulf Coast spot pricing index ( spt_s1_m.htm). Any fuel surcharge that is applied will be based on $0.75 per ski run. TRAVEL INSURANCE Due to VHSG commitments made well in advance of the ski season AND due to extreme weather variations and other types of travel emergencies, our refund and cancellation policies are FIRM. VHSG highly recommends travel insurance to help safeguard you against unforeseen circumstances that may occur before or during your trip. Get your Travel Guard Insurance today at We suggest a policy which has a Cancel for any Reason clause. I understand and acknowledge that VHSG recommends the purchase of travel insurance, and (please initial one): I chose to purchase travel insurance through Travel Guard or another third-party carrier for my trip. I chose not to purchase travel insurance for my VHSG heli-ski trip and understand that if I cancel within 180 days or become injured during my trip, all monies paid are nonrefundable and the cancellation policy stated herein is firm. REFUNDS All seven-day packages guarantee 30 ski runs. Five-day packages guarantee 24 runs. Four-day packages guarantee 16 runs. Three-day packages guarantee 10 runs. If VHSG is unable to meet the run guarantee, a credit will be given for all un-skied runs less than the guaranteed run amount. All runs are credited at the rate of $150 per run. The credit is non-transferable and can only be used during the same or following ski season. No refunds or credits will be given due to injury, personal equipment failure, skiing ability, or fitness. If a client chooses to leave the field early or does not ski on a skiable day for any reason before they have met their ski run guarantee, he/she will be charged a total of six runs. If a client decides to quit skiing early or needs to be evacuated for any reason, including injury, additional costs might be incurred. If Valdez Heli-Ski Guides cancels a ski week due to a lack of snow or any other weather related issues, then you will have the following options: To reschedule for another date during the same ski season with no change fee applied. To forward all monies paid to the following year with no increase in package price. To forward 50% of all monies paid to the following year and receive a 50% refund. Any package price increase will apply. All refunds will be sent within 60 days following their trip or cancellation date. CANCELLATIONS If a cancellation or change in dates is made, notification must be given in writing via or fax to the VHSG office. Any changes or cancellations will be charged a $250 cancellation/change fee. Deposits are 90% refundable for cancellations made 180 days prior to the start of the ski week, minus the $250 cancellation/change fee. Within 180 days of your arrival, all monies paid are nonrefundable. I,, acknowledge I have read the above policies, having had sufficient opportunity to do so, and understand them.
