4 It s Report Card Bonus Time! It s fun to celebrate an achievement. For adults, we celebrate a promotion, birth of a child, etc. Kids like to celebrate their achievements, too. As part of APCU s Youth Program, we reward our young members (between kindergarten age and 18) with a special bonus of $1.00, up to a maximum of $10.00, for each A (or excellent grade) they earn on their end-of-year promotion report card. Here s how to get your child s Good Grades Bonus: The child must be the primary member on the account to qualify. Photocopy your child s end of year report card (the report card that indicates the student is being promoted to the next grade level). Write the child s member number on the report card copy. 5 Mobile Fraud Protection Do you have a Smart Phone? If so, chances are, you do more than make calls on it. Whether you re using your Smart Phone to shop online, catch up on news, conduct your personal banking, or with friends/family having a Smart Phone can be very convenient. The down side? Despite their convenience, Smart Phones can also pose a risk to the security of your personal information. Below are several steps you can take to decrease the likelihood of your personal information being compromised. Keep Your Operating System and Apps Up-To-Date: Your Smart Phone is just like a miniature computer. It contains software that needs to be kept up-to-date. Often times, the latest versions of software contain security updates. Make sure to keep your phone s software up-to-date. Guard Personal Information: Protect your Smart Phone with a passcode. The longer the passcode, the more secure your device. Review Before Downloading: Before you download an application (app), make sure to review its privacy policy. Specifically, make note of what data the app can access. Check For Security: Make sure the websites you visit are secure. One helpful suggestion is that you visit web addresses that start with https, opposed to http. The s in https stands for secure and indicates a higher level of security at the website you are visiting. Don t Respond: Scammers try to obtain your personal information several ways, including: texting, calling, and voic . Be wary of companies you have not initiated contact with that are asking you to provide sensitive information. Please keep these best practices in mind. Being proactive with protecting your Smart Phone and other mobile devices may just save you from becoming a cyber criminal s next victim. Dividend News APCU paid a quarterly share dividend of.599% with an Annual Percentage Yield of.60% for the second quarter. Dividends are compounded and credited to your account quarterly. Dividends will be computed by applying a periodic rate to the balance in the account for each day of the dividend period. Deposits begin earning dividends on the day of deposit. If you close your share account before dividends are paid, you will not receive the accrued dividends. No dividends are paid on balances below $50.00 except on youth accounts.
