2 Keeping Your Information Safe No matter how little, or how much you use the technology available around you, if you use it at all, you need to be aware that there are fraudsters out there who want to access your personal information. The more difficult you make the fraudster s job, the more likely they are to leave you alone. The tips below provide some basic information on how you can keep your computer and identity safe. Most computer files use filename extensions such as.doc for documents or.jpg for images. If a file has a double extension, like heythere.doc.pif, it is highly likely that this is a dangerous file and should never be opened. 4 Vanessa Meek Appointed to Supervisory Committee Mrs. Vanessa Meek, long time credit union member, has been appointed to APCU s Supervisory Committee. Mrs. Meek began her career as a substitute Rural Letter Carrier with the United States Postal Service (USPS) in 1982 in Woodstock, GA. In 2012, she retired from the Adairsville, GA Post Office as their Postmaster. Combined with her 30 years of experience in the USPS, Mrs. Meek also brings with her a MBA from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA. We are very pleased Mrs. Meek has chosen to share her expertise with us as member of our Supervisory Committee. We know her knowledge and enthusiasm will be a valuable asset to APCU.
