2 APCU s bud wilkinson Named A 2016 Moses C. Dais Volunteer Of The Year! APCU is pleased to announce Board Member Bud Wilkinson has earned the prestigious recognition as a 2016 Moses C. Dais Volunteer of the Year from the Georgia Credit Union League. Mr. Wilkinson began his relationship with APCU in 1 2 when he joined the credit union as a member. He was elected to APCU s Board of Directors in Mr. Wilkinson is well-known as a hard-working, dedicated olunteer and an actie member of his church. He preiously sered his community of DeSoto, Georgia, as mayor for 17 years. Mr. Wilkinson was also the past National President of the National Rural Letter Carrier s Association Auxiliary. He is APCU s Board Chaplain and chairs the Credit Union s Asset/Liability Committee. Mr. Wilkinson is also a member of the Credit Union s Field Actiities Committee and heads APCU s Scholarship Reiew Panel. We sincerely thank Mr. Wilkinson for his support and his loyalty to APCU and its members. He is a aluable asset to our organization and the credit union moement. It s Report Card Bonus time Months of going to school and getting good grades is about to pay in a big way for young members of APCU. As part of APCU s Youth Program, members between kindergarten age and 18 will be rewarded with a special bonus of $1.00 for each A or excellent grade they earn on their end-of-year report card, up to $10.00.* The $1.00 credit will be posted to their account for each A or excellent grade earned in core content classes, such as: language arts, health, mathematics, reading (English), science, and social studies. The steps to cash in on the Good Grade Bonus are easy. Simply: Verify the child/teenager is the primary member on the account. Photocopy your child s/teenager s end-of-year report card. Write the child s/teenager s member number on the report card copy. 3 some things you can do to Raise Your Credit Score Your credit score helps APCU determine whether or not you are able to repay loans based on your past fnancial performance. A higher score can help you qualify for better interest rates, higher credit limits, and more types of credit. If your credit score is not as high as you would like, here are a few ideas that may help. c Pay your bills on time using APCU s Online Bill Pay and Presentment serice aailable through APCU s Internet Branch at APCU s Online Bill Pay and Presentment serice allows you to pay your bills online directly from your APCU checking account. You can also schedule payment reminders and set automatic payments using this serice. Don t let your credit score drop because of late or missed payments. Instead, let APCU s Online Bill Pay and Presentment serice help you stay on top of your bills! c Check your credit report for accuracy. Inaccurate information on your credit report can negatiely impact your credit score. For information on how to get a copy of your credit report, simply isit APCU s website at and select Helpful Links under the Resources tab. c Use your APCU VISA Platinum Credit Card responsibly. Try to pay your credit card balance off in full each month. If you cannot pay your full balance, at least make the minimum monthly payment. c Monitor your debt-to-income ratio. Your debt-to-income ratio compares the total amount you owe eery month to the total amount you earn.
