Where: 2420 Members Way (off Harrodsburg Rd) When: Thursday, August 11 Time: 8:30 a.m. 1:00 p.m. Cost: $15 per person (AARP members) $20 per person (non-aarp members) For adults 50 and over, you will learn how to handle age-related physical changes, declining perceptual skills, rules of the road, local driving problems, license renewal requirements and more. To enroll in the program applicants must contact Tammy at, ext Space is limited and enrollees will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis until the class is filled. Back-To-School School will be starting before you know it. Open a New Membership Youth Account in July and you will receive a $10 Walgreens gift card to help purchase all your back-to-school needs! * Account must be opened in child s name. 5 Scholarship Winners We are happy to announce the three winners of the 2016 Youth Scholarship Program: Kyra Leigh Seevers, Colby Birkes and Ashley Richmond. These students have excelled, not only in their studies, but also in many extracurricular and leadership activities. Kyra Leigh Seevers is a graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School and plans on attending the University of Kentucky in the fall, majoring in Computer Science. Colby Birkes graduated from George Rogers Clark High School. He plans on attending Bellarmine University in the fall, pursuing a Biology and Pre-Med degree. Ashley Richmond is a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School and plans on attending the University of Pikeville in the fall, majoring in Biology, Pre-Optometry and Business. These students received $2,000 from Members Heritage to help finance their continuing education. L to R: Bobby A. Flynn, Board Chairman; Kyra Leigh Seevers; Colby Birkes; Ashley Richmond; and Pat Ferry, President. Annual Meeting Notes MHCU s Annual Meeting was held on Friday, April 22. There were 175 members in attendance at the meeting. Speakers included the Board Chairman, Vice Chairman, President and Treasurer. Reports were given by the Supervisory Committee Chair, Mark Mefford; Education Committee Chair, Mike Harding; and standing in for Nominating Committee Chair, Lonnie Johnson. Board Chairman, Bobby A. Flynn recognized the following volunteers for their years of service and presented them with a service pin. 35 years Mike Proctor 10 years Jim Allen Amanda Plakosh It was reported by President Pat Ferry that, 2015 was another extremely busy and challenging year. This was our first year under our new community charter, and we increased our membership from 44,894 to 46,120 an increase of 1,226. The new charter had a positive effect for us. New services added in 2015 included payments by phone, remote deposit capture on phones, chip and PIN credit cards with the debit cards to be issued this year, he continued. We added the cash back option to our credit card rewards program. We continue to review and evaluate new products and services to enhance our members credit union experience. President Ferry went on to say, In July, we completely reorganized the credit union to better market our services and products to the membership. We now have three main areas: Lending, Service and Support, with each one concentrating on their specific area. Thank you for everyone s patience during this transitional time. We are working through the bugs with our goal to give exceptional service and products to the membership. President Pat Ferry concluded with, 2015 was a good year. Thank you for your support and usage of the Credit Union. I want to assure you that your credit union is Safe, Sound and Secure! We are excited about 2016! There was one vacancy on the board to be filled. The Nominating Committee nominated Mike Harding to fill the vacancy. With no other nominees being submitted, a three-year appointment to the Board of Directors was declared for Mike Harding by acclamation. At the Board s reorganizational meeting the following offices were filled: Officers Bobby A. Flynn, Chairman Jim Allen, Vice Chair Mike Proctor, Secretary Les Burton, Treasurer Mike Harding, Director Michelle Thomas, Associate Director The meeting was closed with a door prize drawing courtesy of Members Heritage and area vendors/business partners who donated items.
