1 New Delhi School Mess Local Tender Notice Sealed Tenders are invited for running Jamia Schools Mess Persons having sufficient experience in running University/College/School Mess shall be preferred. Applications form(s) alongwith the detailed Terms & Conditions may be had from the Office of the Asstt. Registrar (Schools), Registrar s Office,, New Delhi on payment of Rs.100/- (Non-refundable). Last date for submission of Tender (alongwith earnest money Rs.10,000/-) is upto 3.00 p.m. in the Office of the Asstt. Registrar (Schools). The tenders will be opened at 3.30 p.m. on the same day. 2 School Mess Jamia Schools Details about School Hostel The Seven School Hostels are situated in the School Campus, Jamia Millia Islamia (a Central University) with a capacity of about 276 boarders at present. The boarders comprise students from Middle level classes between the age of 9 to 13 years and students of IX to XII class having age between 14 to 18 years. A copy of Menu of Central Kitchen (Schools) is attached. The winter vacations shall start from 25 th December, 2010 to 6 th January 2011 and Summer Vacations from 9 th May, 2011 to 30 th June, Terms and Conditions for Mess Contract 1. The Successful Contractor(s) would have to make following payments for respective Mess as shown in Annexure A. a) Earnest Money - Rs.10, b) Security Deposit (DD) - Rs.30,000/- at the time of award. c) License Fee P.M. - as per JMI rules. d) Water Charges P.M. - as per JMI rules. e) Electricity charges - as per JMI rules 2. Earnest money, which is to be given alongwith this tender would be refunded. Only Bank Draft in favour of JAMIA MILLIA ISLAMIA shall be accepted. 3. The contract would be for a duration of 11 months/ Academic Session (whichever is less). The Contractor shall vacate the premises on expiry of the period of contract unless the contract is extended / renewed for another terms or lease period as decided by the University. 4. The timings and the working days of the Mess will be regulated by the University. 5. The Contractor should quote their rates alongwith the quantity for supply of items mentioned on the enclosure. 6. The Contractor shall use the following brands in the preparation of the Food. 3 7. The license shall see to it that all the approved items are available in the Mess every day failing which the contract is liable to be terminated by giving 10 days notice. 8. The Mess/ Kitchen should be kept clean and free of unhygienic conditions 9. The Bearer employed by the Contractor shall have to be kept neat and clean 10. The Contractor will make his own arrangement for cooking gas. 11. Contractor shall be responsible for ensuring safety and maintenance of all the equipments including electrical equipments installed by the University in the Mess/Kitchen during the entire period of the contract. 12. If the Contractor fails to pay license fee and other charges by the due date shall have to pay a penalty of 20% of the license fee per week and the agreement can also be cancelled. 13. If the licensee leaves in between without completing the full term of the contract, the security money i.e. Rs.30,000/- deposited by the licensee will be forfeited. 14. In case of failure of the terms and conditions by the Contractor, the University shall have the authority to lock the premises and take the possession of the premises. 15. The successful tenderer shall not sub-let the premises either in whole or in part. The premises shall not be used for residential purposes even for the Mess/Kitchen staff. No addition or alterations in the premises will be made without permission of the University. 16. Mess/Kitchen shall be supervised by the Mess Committee nominated by the Vice- Chancellor. The Contractor shall abide by the directives of the Mess Committee. 17. In case of breach of any of the conditions of the contract, the security deposit shall be liable to be forfeited. Decision of the Vice-Chancellor/Pro-Vice-Chancellor/Registrar, JMI of what shall constitute a breach shall be final and binding on both parties. 18. The University reserves the right to award the contract to any party irrespective of the rates quoted by them. 19. An agreement will have to be signed by the Contractor before the start of the work. Specimen copy of the agreement, may be seen in the Office of the Asstt. Registrar (Schools) by the indenting tenders.
