You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected. Aftercare program Our trained aftercare team will follow up with your family in the days after the funeral service to answer questions and offer support. 5. Legal Advice Our full-time experienced and top-rated attorney on staff is available to give advice on estate and probate matters and to provide any surviving spouse with a MD Statutory Power of Attorney and a MD Advance Directive for Health Care, all at no cost if the services provided included visitation. Customized obituary and picture complete with visitation, service and contribution information. 2. The webpage is able to be linked to your favorite social media site by helpful icons to assist with distributing service information to your contacts. 3. A link to Google Maps to provide directions to the place of visitation/service. 4. Tribute Wall - this program allows visitors to leave a message, post a picture, and upload videos to a loved one s web page. 5. 3 How We Honor, Recognize and Pay Respect for Fallen Heroes FALLEN HEROES PACKAGE Whether it was in the armed forces or through fire or law enforcement, your loved one has served, and therefore, deserves to be recognized. McComas Funeral Home has been honored to work closely with all of the branches of the military as well as our police and fire department communities to pay final tribute to many fallen heroes through the years. TO HONOR THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED, WE WOULD LIKE TO OFFER THE FOLLOWING SERVICE PACKAGE TO PAY TRIBUTE TO THE LIFE OF YOUR LOVED ONE. OUR TRIBUTE FOR A VETERAN BEGINS WITH THE INITIAL CALL - From the moment you contact our firm we will determine if your loved one was a Veteran. From the time your loved one enters our care, he or she will be treated with the utmost respect. A custom-made American flag quilt will be draped over the stretcher to transport a Veteran from the place of death into our care. The quilt provides a caring, patriotic way to honor a deceased Veteran in a proper manner. PALLBEARER IDENTIFICATION - The pallbearers for a deceased Veteran will be identified with an American flag lapel pin. This is our gift to the pallbearers designed to be a keepsake in remembrance of their part in honoring the Veteran. CUSTOMIZED VIDEO TRIBUTE - Through family supplied pictures we will create a memorable tribute that will be played at the visitation and service. We will give it to you in DVD format for continued viewing in your home. You also have the option of having this program accessible on our website for further viewing. SERVICE EMBLEMS We will use magnet service emblems on the doors of the hearse that will take your loved one to his or her place of rest. These emblems will proudly display the line of service in which your loved one has served. WALK OF HONOR - American flags will be arranged at the cemetery creating a Walk of Honor leading to the graveside. MILITARY HONORS - Upon receiving the necessary documents and authorization, the funeral home will arrange for military honors to be rendered at the proper time. 4 General Price List PROFESSIONAL SERVICES OF FUNERAL DIRECTORS AND STAFF...$3, Our fee for the services of funeral directors and staff includes, but is not limited to, staff to receive initial request for service; sheltering remains; arrangement conference with family or responsible party (2 hours); arrangement of funeral; preparation and filing of necessary certificates and permits within 30 mile radius; recording vital statistics; preparation and placement of obituary notices; staff assistance prior to, and following the funeral, including coordinating with those providing other portions of the funeral, e.g. cemetery, crematory and others. Also included in this charge are overhead expenses relative to our facility such as insurance, maintenance and utility expenses, secretarial and administrative costs, and equipment and inventory expenses. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.) EMBALMING... $ Embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial. These packages must be taken in their entirety; there can be no reduction in price for any items in the package that are not wanted or utilized. These packages are available only with the purchase of a casket or cremation casket/container from McComas Funeral Home P.A. If a casket/container is provided by another funeral home or vendor, all selections must be made from the itemized price list. These packages do NOT include any of the following unless specifically listed: casket, outer burial container, memorial package, any cash advance items, or weekend service fee. All service packages include a two hour planning session with one of our licensed funeral directors. Any additional time may be subject to a professional hourly fee. We have discounted the price of the items included in each of the above packages (exclusive of the basic service fee) to provide you with an overall savings of at least 2% over the price of the same set of goods and services if selected on an itemized basis. They are large, woven of extra soft cotton and convey a photograph of someone we love. A Funeral Tribute Blanket is six feet long and makes us feel better as we wrap up in a favorite photo. Blankets help people through the grieving process which due to the large size, they will later cover up with while reading or watching tv. Most people have a blanket beside their favorite chair. This package includes a customized video tribute. Legal advisory services... Complimentary These services are offered by an attorney on staff who is also a licensed funeral director. These services include but are not limited to estate advisory services, assistance with preparation of Maryland Statutory Power of Attorney, and assistance with Maryland Advance Directive for health care, at no additional cost. Celebrant Service Offering...$ We have Certified Funeral Celebrants on staff available to work with you to provide a service of remembrance that is personalized to reflect the lifestyle of your loved one. Service for stillborn or infant up to one year of age...$ Our charge includes vehicle and equipment to transfer remains to funeral home, donated professional services of funeral director and staff, care of body when no embalming is required, and hearse to local cemetery or transportation to crematory. Merchandise (casket, vault, and/or urn) selected will be provided at a discount. Cemetery and/or crematory costs are not included. Funeral services for children (age 16 and under) As a way of expressing our sympathy to your family at the death of an infant or child, merchandise selected (casket, vault, and/or urn) will be provided at a discount, and the current charges for any of our services requested will be reduced by 50%. This does not include any cash advance items. 14 Payment Policy We offer the following payment choices. Please feel free to discuss special needs with your funeral director. 1) Payment in full is required at time of arrangements. 2) Payment may be made by cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, or Discover. 3) Payment may be made by assignment of insurance proceeds if policy is assignable. For assignment of insurance proceeds, we require that insurance policies be delivered to us at the time of arrangements, so they may be verified and we can ascertain whether or not the policy can be assigned to the funeral home. (Payment may be made in any combination of the above equal to the total amount due.) 4) We ask that payments to third parties (e.g., grave opening fee) be made separately by the family with a personal check or credit card. 5) Pre Payment. You may have already established a pre-paid funeral arrangement with our funeral home. In the event that the total funding of the pre-paid funeral contract has not been satisfied and/or additional charges are incurred at the time of need, the balance is required at time of arrangements and may be paid through any of the above payment options. Pre-Arrangements With very few exceptions, all items contained in the General Price List may be pre-arranged and pre-funded. In an effort to both prepare and inform the families we serve, the McComas family encourages prearranging. Along with the peace of mind that pre-planning provides, your pre-paid plan may also be guaranteed as set forth below. When families prepay, monies are paid to an irrevocable insurance policy which will allow the account to be guaranteed in part, that is that no other monies would be required for goods and services from the funeral home at the time of death although additional monies may be required by third parties such as cemeteries and newspapers. We guarantee our goods and services by way of an insurance policy face amount based on the total amount of the contracted services and merchandise through our company (the Total Funeral Price ) and the age of the person at the time of prearrangement, as follows: If the Beneficiary is 80 years of age or older, the insurance policy face amount is 110% of the Total Funeral Price; and If the Beneficiary is less than 80 years of age, the insurance policy face amount is 115% of the Total Funeral Price. Pre-arranging has become a key component of many estate planning portfolios. Flexible terms are available to ensure that pre-arranging your funeral fits within most budgets.
