1 Our General Price List A Better Place strives to serve each family without high, unnecessary costs. We have created our pricing in a manner we feel suits everyone s needs. Our main goal is to assist families in creating a meaningful tribute to their loved ones. Our funeral home is unique in a few ways. One, we are not a traditional funeral home. All of our arrangement conferences will be held in our office or the family s home or a place they feel most comfortable. All of our selections are completed through photos and catalogs in lieu of large, intimidating selection rooms. By doing business in this manner, we are able to save families hundreds and many times, thousands of dollars. The facilities that house your loved ones are inspected by us and are always secure. They are registered facilities with the State of Colorado and meet OSHA standards. Our cremation facility is operated by a cremationist with many years of experience and requires thorough documentation prior to any cremation. Over several years we have been able to extend credit to our families, unfortunately, today s society requires us to have one, simple payment policy. We require payment at the conclusion of the arrangement conference. In special circumstances, we will allow a down payment, usually 25%, to allow you to collect the rest of the balance due by the time of the burial or before the process of cremation is held. We accept all forms of payment: cash, cashier s check, money order, verifiable personal check, and all major credit cards. All balances paid with a credit card are subject to a 5% fee. Insurance policies will only be accepted if we can verify them through our third party resource and you allow them to collect insurance monies and pay us upfront. A small percentage of the total cost will be collected for their services, no money will be exchanged until the insurance is collected for you, the beneficiary. This is a very simple way of paying when cash on hand is an issue. Again, thank you for choosing A Better Place. GENERAL PRICE LIST Prices effective June 1, 2013 and are subject to change without notice. The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected. Our prices are listed as individual services and then as packages. The packages are discounted in an effort to make our services as affordable as possible.

2 PROFESSIONAL SERVICES Basic Services of Funeral Director Staff and Overhead $ Our services include: conducting the arrangements conference, planning the funeral; consulting with family and clergy; shelter of remains; preparing and filing necessary notices; obtaining necessary authorizations and permits; coordinating with the cemetery; crematory, or other third parties, In addition, this fee includes a proportionate share of our basic overhead costs. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.) Embalming...$ Except in special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial. This charge does not include viewing, funeral service, graveside service, any merchandise, airfare or transportation and/or mileage to our funeral home either by our firm or by common carrier. Direct Cremation available from $ to $ 1, Our charge for a direct cremation (without ceremony) includes: basic services of funeral director, staff and overhead; transfer of remains to funeral home; professional care of the remains; utility vehicle; vehicle to crematory (additional mileage may be additional); necessary authorizations; cremation fee; minimum cardboard cremation container and basic urn. This charge does not include any viewing, ceremony, additional merchandise or mailing charges for the cremated remains. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternate container. Alternate containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The container we provide is a cardboard container. Sending Your Loved One to Another Funeral Home (No Local Services or Viewing).. $ Forwarding Remains to Another Funeral Home on GPL. A minimum of a combination shipping container is required by the airline for domestic flights. If services are conducted before your loved one is sent, go to the Traditional Funeral Service Package Plan. Urn Selection Though not required, an urn is used to transport, hold, and give your loved one s cremated remains a place of permanent rest, such as a casket in burial. Normally, the cremated remains are returned from our cremation facility in a plastic, shipping container. The main purpose for this plastic container is not permanent; it is designed to transport the cremated remains when sent across the city, state or country. The cremated remains should then be placed in a suitable, permanent container or urn. There are many different urns to select from. Many are designed for specific needs like scattering, burial or home display. All of our cremation package plans include a permanent urn. We feel each person s cremated remains should be handled with the utmost care and respect at all times. You may choose a different urn to meet your needs. We have access to hundreds of styles, shapes, sizes, materials and way to customize each urn. There are lines of jewelry, blown glass and art works. No matter your budget, we will have an urn to meet your needs. We are here to honor your loved one at all times and whatever selection is made we will respect and follow your wishes. Cremation Container Selections Required by the crematory, a cremation container must be selected to transport your loved ones remains to the crematory before cremation and to transfer the remains into the cremation chamber. An alternative container is typically used when cremation is selected in lieu of a casket. A single corrugated fiberboard container is the minimum requirement for the cremations without viewing or identification. We offer simple containers that include a pillow and liner and/or interior. Most people selecting cremation have no idea what these containers look like. Our firm believes in consumer education and informed decision-making. You will see a sampling of each container we offer before you select what you feel best meets your needs. When a funeral viewing is to be held, a suitable container for those needs are also available, you may rent a specially designed casket or purchase one for these needs. We will show you the differences and costs involved. Remember, your selection if the cremation container is important and always know that we will carry out your wishes for your loved one. Outer Burial Container Price List These Prices are effective February 1, 2013 and are subject to change without notice An Outer Burial Container is any device, which is placed in the grave around a casket, including, but not limited to, containers commonly known as Burial Vaults, Grave Boxes, and Grave Liners. There is no state or federal law requiring the use of such a device for burial. However, cemetery regulations do customarily stipulate conditions and rules doe burial and may require their use. Graveliner/Tent Setup $ Monticello Vault/Tent Setup $ In addition to the above merchandise charge there also is a $ fee from the vault company for the delivery to the cemetery and set up of lowering device, tent and chairs.
