MS advised that this had been discussed at the Leadership Cmmittee (see minutes). MG questined the cmment abut Middle Leaders nt being a strength. MS said that this was bad wrding but des reflect the fact that leadership at every level has been identified n the Schl Develpment Plan and that the schl was nt clear in expectatins fr teachers n the UPR. b) Link Gvernr Respnsibilities MS suggested that this shuld be aligned t the Develpment Plan. Anyne with a specific interest shuld advise. c) Ptential Assciate Member MG advised that she had still nt heard anything frm SGOSS. prpsed appraching Karen Jenkins wh wrks in Pst 16. 2 d) Electin f Chair and Vice Chair f the Leadership Cmmittee This had been deferred at the recent meeting. Chair MG cnfirmed that she wuld be happy t stand again. There were n ther nminatins. MG was elected unanimusly. Vice Chair JF said that she wuld be happy t take n the rle f Vice Chair. There were n ther nminatins. JF was elected unanimusly. e) Learning Walk MS advised that this had been arranged fr Tuesday 28 Nvember, frm 09:30 t 11:00. TM and JF said that they wuld attend. 7 Headteacher s Reprt It was agreed that MS, and IB wuld discuss the future shape f the Headteacher s Reprt at their review meeting n Mnday. Each Cmmittee currently has a summary fr their areas f respnsibility thrugh the alignment f an area f the Schl Evaluatin Summary. a) Link Partner Reprt The Link Partner s Reprt was pre-circulated. MG asked if MS had been given the pprtunity t address any factual errrs? Yes, the amended reprt is with the LA. MS advised that ur current Link Partner is an Ofsted Inspectr and was Head f an MLD Schl. Gvernrs questined the cmments abut staffing levels. The Link Partner visited 8 / 9 classes. This will be re-visited after the current rund f bservatins. MS raised the bservatin abut the use f IT (sectin 4) and pinted ut that this was nt typical; he was nly here fr a mrning. b) Update n Pst 16 Prvisin questined whether we shuld frm a wrking party t supprt the schl? will send ut an t see which Gvernrs wuld be interested in participating. This culd represent a significant time cmmitment and we wuld need t divest sme f Zuza s ther wrk. Areas fr cnsideratin: What is ur visin? What d we want? What is feasible? What d pupils want? It was acknwledged that while there is n guarantee that the LA will prvide the funding fr Pst 16 prvisin, hwever we d have the chance t influence the way frward. MS reprted that he has had a fllw up meeting with Redwd. IB asked abut the backgrund t Redwd. A charity MS said that Redwd wuld see links with Springhallw as psitive

3 MS suggested that the verall capacity wuld be 24 students, sme with cmplex needs based at Springhallw with the remainder at Redwd Cllege. c) Update n Ealing Learning Partnership MS prvided an update: Whilst the LA have utlined what yu wuld get, it is nt clear what yu will n lnger get. We are being asked t cmmit fr 1 year. The LA were previusly lking fr a 3-year cmmitment. The 6 Special Schls wuld frm a cluster. The likely cst shuld be in the regin f 4K / 5K which represents a lw risk. said that she had sent a list f questins t Gary Redhead / Julie Lewis althugh she has nt received a respnse yet. has asked fr a reply by 5 January at the latest. IB pinted ut that accrding t Julie Lewis there wuld be n pay as yu g ptin. As a final decisin is required by 10 January 2018 the Gverning Bard will be infrmed f prgress fr Feedback. / MS t update Gvernrs fr a decisin. d) Schl Develpment Plan The Schl Develpment Plan was circulated at the meeting: Leadership and Management: Main pay-range Teachers have 3 targets. Upper pay-range Teachers have 4 targets. There have been lts f visits by Gvernrs prviding gd evidence. All Gvernrs were asked t undertake a minimum f ne visit per term. Teaching and Learning: MPTA: Maximising Ptential f Teaching Assistants. Curriculum: Zuza and Maria have reviewed the 3-year curriculum cycle. Assessment Systems: We have had a gd dialgue with ther schls. All Pupil Prgress meetings have nw been cmpleted. Internal mderatin was cmpleted yesterday. Maria and Zuza attending a LA assessment meeting n 7 December. Cnversin f Statements t EHC Plans: Ealing are behind with EHC cnversins. We cannt set up ur prcesses until we have a cmmn platfrm i.e. all n EHC Plans. Parents are receiving cntradictry infrmatin frm the LA. suggested that it wuld help if parents understd the ratinale fr mving frm Statements t EHC Plans. Parents are reliant n the schl fr supprt. Teachers have been asked t have an IEP in place until March TM asked hw the LA is wrking with the schl in respect f EHC Plan cnversins. Questinable.

4 We have had t call an Emergency Annual Review fr ne ut f Brugh student where the hme brugh is nly prepared t pay 10K tp up (shuld be 18K) Pupil Premium Whilst we knw what has been spent the impact is nt s clear. Cathal and Ana have attended Pupil Training recently. Behaviur BSD = Behaviur Supprt Database. MS reprted that the LA plan t undertake an assessment f ur budgets / spend. That this will be undertaken by an external cnsultant and will take 2 days. MS explained the reasn fr the cmments abut sunglasses. MG asked abut the curriculum map. MS cnfirmed that this had been circulated fr Safeguarding. c) Partnerships Cmmittee 12/10/2017 d) Pupils Cmmittee 12/10/2017 MS updated Gvernrs n the prcedures that are being fllwed where it has been established that staff references are missing: We are btaining new character references. EM explained that he was keen t invlve Springhallw children f all ages at each stage f the prcess. This will give ur children an pprtunity t see business wrks. EM is als invlved with a 90M Design and build prject fr a hspital in Asct. Again, there wuld be an pprtunity t invlve Springhallw pupils. TM agreed with the imprtance f invlving children at every age s that they can learn what happens. Directrs Reprt It was agreed that in future when the Directrs Reprt is published items will be allcated t cmmittees t review. Any relevant items can then be referred t the FGB. The wrkshp was rganised by Heathrw Academy, Accenture etc. said that it had been very disappinting as there was n appetite t engage with Special Schls. agreed t fllw this up tgether with Debrah Dent frm the LA t push fr pprtunities fr Springhallw students.
