Psitin is a hired psitin and is classified as vertime-exempt. Hurly requirements likely exceed 40 hurs per week. High Schl Diplma and a minimum f ne t three (1-3) years experience required, Bachelr s Degree and Clerk Certificatin preferred. 2 DEPARTMENT: Administratin CLASSIFICATION: Full-time FLSA Designatin: Overtime Exempt SALARY RANGE: $ $15.19/hr APPROVED BY: Mayr REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Psitin Reprts t: Psitins Supervised: Mayr Nne DISTINGUISING FEATURES OF THE POSITION The Deputy City/Curt Clerk serves at the pleasure f the City Cuncil, wrking independently and under the supervisin f the Mayr. This psitin perfrms duties as City Clerk and Curt Clerk. This psitin prvides clerical supprt t the City, the Justice Curt Judge, the City Prsecutr, the Planning Cmmissin and City Cuncil (as needed). This psitin als perfrms City Recrder Functins as required. FUNCTIONS & DUTIES As City Clerk: Serve as Administrative Aid t the Mayr and City Cuncil. Required t attend cuncil meetings, and thers indicated necessary by the City Cuncil. Required t transcribe minutes f City Cuncil and Planning Cmmissin meetings and ther meetings as assigned. Oversight f centralized mailrm and cpy center peratins. As Building Permit Administratr, answer all questins in reference t building permits, and prvide all necessary infrmatin fr permit preparatin and submittal t develpers and members f the public. Answer questins relating t zning, planning, and cdes in the City. Prcess business licenses, special event reservatins and ther permits and registratins in accrdance with City Cde and adpted plicies. Quarterly/mnthly and daily statistical reprting t State f Utah. Arrange fr all building inspectins. Liaisn between develpers and city fficials. Prvides clerical supprt fr the Treasurer. Perfrms receptin functins; answer telephne calls and greets visitrs. Perfrms custmer service functins; prvides infrmatin/assistance regarding department/divisin services, activities, prcedures, fees r ther issues.

3 Persnally transprts all mnies and depsit t city bank accunts. Prcesses incming/utging mail. Mnitrs inventry f department supplies and frms. Types, prepares r cmpletes varius frms, reprts, crrespndence, invices, r ther dcuments. Perfrms basic maintenance f cmputer system and general ffice equipment, such as back up data r replacing paper, ink, r tner; crdinates services/repair activities as needed. Cmmunicates effectively and curteusly with public and c-wrkers. As Curt Clerk: Enters and prcesses tickets and payments and any ther dcuments invlved in each citatin. Enters and prcesses small claims filings and any ther dcuments invlved in each small claims case. Enter and prcesses Jail Release Agreements (N Cntact Orders) and any ther dcuments invlved in each dmestic vilence case. Crdinates Judge, plice, attrney and the public fr varius prceedings. Calls juries. Crdinates dates fr Judge t perfrm marriages. Managing citatins n a regular basis, sending ut delinquency ntices ver 14 days and issuing warrants f arrest fr Judge s signature when ver 40 days. Answers phne calls and public inquiries. Perfrms cmputer applicatin, typing, wrd prcessing, printing, faxing and mailing. Handles accunting fr curt. Schedules curt rm fr ther types f curt prceedings ther than the Justice Curt. D criminal backgrund checks. Receive payments fr fines. Is the TAC crdinatr fr the Statewide Warrant System Attends training t maintain certificatin as Justice Curt Clerk. Attends curt t assist the Judge. Maintains strict cnfidentiality fr all prceedings. Maintain curt recrds. Cmmunicate tracking recrds fr the Bureau f Criminal Investigatin (BCI). Other Duties: Respnsible fr general versight f funds and sme distributin t varius entities. Manage reservatins and use f the Cmmunity Center and all parks.

4 Assist Public Wrks in all areas. Crdinate special events. Crdinate the writing and distributin f the city newsletter. Receipt in all mnies fr administrative, building and curt fees. Write and tracking f all city cntracts. Perfrms City Recrder Functins and duties as required. Other duties as assigned. PERFORMANCE MEASURES (Determined by Mayr) QUALIFICATION & COMPETENCIES EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High schl diplma required. Previus experience equivalent t three (3) years in a similar psitin. Be bndable. Be a Ntary, r be able t btain certificatin within six mnths f hire. Pssessin f r ability t receive Utah Justice Curt Clerk Certificatin within 6 mnths f hire. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Knwledge f the City s cdes, plicies, and prcedures. Knwledge f the state s retentin laws. Knwledge f the principles and practices f City clerking. Knwledge f general supervisry and managerial principles and practices. General understanding f accunting, including the use f additin, subtractin, multiplicatin and divisin f numbers including decimals and fractins. Intermediate knwledge f basic cmputer and technical skills. Knwledge f cmputer skills in perating Micrsft Office. Knwledge f budgets. Basic knwledge f the Justice Curt system and terminlgy. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: One t Three (1-3) years f related experience. SKILLS/ABILITIES: Skill in cmmunicating effectively, bth rally and in writing. Skill in preparing and prcessing recrds fr lng term strage. Skill in catalging and filing public recrds in accrdance with state statutes.
