CALLING THE ROLL II. DECLARATION OF PECUNIARY INTEREST AND THE GENERAL NATURE THEREOF None Declared. III. PETITIONS AND DEPUTATIONS MOVED by Councillor Sidney, Councillor Windle THAT Charlene Riopelle and Lisa Duggan appear before Council to promote a rally petitioning the Government of Ontario to implement an amendment to Bill 148, The Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, in support of the developmentally disabled. - CARRIED - Ms. Riopelle and Ms. Duggan appeared before Council as concerned parents wanting the Province of Ontario to save their children's jobs by restoring an exemption in Ontario labour law that had allowed them to work for less than minimum wage. This exemption enabled people with intellectual disabilities to be employed in sheltered workshops to do irregular work with community agencies for a few dollars an hour. The Fairer Workplaces, Better Jobs Act eliminated the exemption, and also increased Ontario's minimum wage. A community rally is being organized in Renfrew on June 2, MOVED by Councillor Jamieson, Councillor Sidney THAT Jason Healey, on behalf of MacKillican and Associates, appear before Council to present the 2017 Financial Statements. - CARRIED - Mr. Healey, a Partner with MacKillican and Associates, highlighted the draft Consolidated Financial Statements for Council and provided clarity on several items MOVED by Reeve Emon, Councillor Evans THAT Renfrew Town Council receive and adopt the 2017 Financial Statements as prepared and presented by MacKillican and Associates. - CARRIED -

REPORTS cont d MOVED by Councillor Sidney, Reeve Emon THAT Treasurer O Reilly s report dated May 17, 2018, concerning the Transfers to/from Reserves for 2017, not previously approved by Council, be received MOVED by Councillor Evans, Councillor Jamieson - CARRIED - THAT Council approve the transfer $462, to the Capital Works in Progress (CWIP) Reserve of the unexpended financing for the following purchases/projects initiated, but not completed in 2017: a) $358, for Barnet Blvd. Rehabilitation; b) $17, for Highway 60/Downtown; c) $45, to purchase a plow and wing (Development & Works); and d) $42, to purchase pick-up truck (Recreation); AND FURTHER THAT Council approve the transfer of $200, to the Facilities Reserve, being the unexpended 2017 levy for Facility Improvements; AND FURTHER THAT Council approve the transfer of $20, to the Tax Arrears Reserve, being the unexpended 2017 allocation for uncollectible taxes; AND FURTHER THAT Council approve the transfer of $ to the Community Improvement Plan Reserve, being the unexpended 2017 allocation for CIP projects; AND FURTHER THAT Council approve the transfer of an additional $ to the Ice Resurfacer Replacement Reserve, in order to top up the accumulated reserve balance to $20,000.00; AND FURTHER THAT Council approve the transfer of $ to the Unallocated Reserve, being the unexpended 2017 allocation for the Police Services Board Zone 2 meeting; AND FURTHER THAT Council approve the transfer of $2, from the 550 Hall Ave. Reserve to offset expenditures incurred relative to the ongoing environmental assessments and legal costs relative to this property; AND FURTHER THAT Council approve the transfer of $22, from the Solar Reserve, representing the deficit for the year from solar operations; AND FURTHER THAT Council approve the transfer of an additional $4, to the WSIB Reserve, and the transfer of an additional $27, from the WSIB Reserve, based on the actual payroll assessment and WSIB costs for MOVED by Councillor Sidney, Councillor Windle - CARRIED - THAT the minutes from the Parks and Recreation Committee meeting held May 15, 2018, be received. - CARRIED -

REPORTS cont d MOVED by Councillor Coulas, Councillor Evans THAT the minutes from the Development & Works Committee meeting held April 25, 2018, be received MOVED by Reeve Emon, Councillor Evans - CARRIED - THAT Director Asselin s report dated May 14, 2018, concerning the purchase of a valve maintenance trailer system, be received; and FURTHER THAT Council authorize the Department of Development & Works to purchase a 2018 LX (gas) VMT2 Single Turner Valve maintenance trailer system from WACHS CANADA LTD at a cost of $79,734.00, inclusive of nonrefundable HST, plus optional hydraulic hand breaker at a cost of $3,520.89, inclusive of non-refundable HST, for a total cost of $83, MOVED by Councillor Coulas, Councillor Evans - CARRIED - THAT Director Asselin s report dated May 14, 2018, concerning the purchase of a 2018 Trash Pump, complete with trailer unit, suction hose and discharge hose, be received; and FURTHER THAT Council authorize the Department of Development & Works to purchase a 2018 Gorman 4 Trash Pump complete with trailer unit, suction hose and discharge hose from Battlefield Equipment at a cost of $22,412.64, inclusive of non-refundable HST MOVED by Councillor Jamieson, Councillor Evans - CARRIED - THAT the minutes from the Economic Development & Tourism Committee meeting held May 10, 2018, be received. - CARRIED - VII. CLOSED SESSION MOVED by Reeve Emon, Councillor Coulas THAT Renfrew Town Council convene in Closed Session for the following matter pursuant to Section 239 2(e) of the Municipal Act, 2001 ~ litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the municipality. More specifically to discuss and update on potential litigation involving the former Fire Chief. - CARRIED - Council convened in Closed Session at 8:12 p.m MOVED by Councillor Jamieson, Reeve Emon THAT Renfrew Town Council rise from its Closed Session and report progress. Council rose from Closed Session at 9:15 p.m. - CARRIED - Reeve Emon advised that Council was brought up to date on the status of the pending litigation involving the former Fire Chief. No further instructions were given to staff in this regard. XI.
