1 Budget 2019, AGM, National Fitness Day, Annual Conference, Golf Classic, Lets#BeActive, Training, Supplier Updates & more We launched our Pre Budget Submission on 19th September following up from the submission to Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe regarding the 9% VAT rate in July. All Oireachtas members were sent a copy of our submission and we have received a positive response to date. We attended a briefing this week with the Minister of State for Tourism and Sport Brendan Griffin where he explained that he is doing his utmost to protect the 9% rate for the sports sector. 4 key asks in our submission: 1. Keeping the 9% VAT rate for the sport and leisure sector- this applies to swimming pool and gym membership/access and rental of sports facilities 2. Extending the VAT exemption on swimming lessons for children to all activity programmes for children and adults, and consider a 0% VAT rate instead 3. Removing the Benefit in Kind tax burden on employers and employees for swimming pool and

2 gym membership, and creating a scheme similar to the 'bike to work' type scheme for leisure centre and gym membership for employees 4. Increasing investment in Sports Capital and Large Scale Infrastructure investment in sports and leisure facilities annually The Budget will take place next Tuesday 9th October.
