1 Free Travel Insurance Offer FAQ s Can a customer get the free travel insurance offer with their Irish Life Health plan? This offer is available to all customers who have a policy start date between the 1st of January and the 28 th of February 2017 on an Irish Life Health Policy included in the promotion. Customers travel policy start date will be the same start date as their health insurance. To avail of this offer customers must register their details on Customers who do not register their details will not get the free travel insurance policy. How does a customer get a travel insurance policy? Will it be sent to them automatically? In order to get a travel insurance policy customers must register their details on Once customers do this we will validate that the information is correct and pass the customers details on to Allianz Global Assistance. The customer s policy will be sent to them via from Allianz Global Assistance no later than 14 days after the submission of the online form. Why does a customer need to fill out a form to get their travel insurance - Irish Life Health have all their details? In order to get this free offer from our partner Allianz Global Assistance we need permission from the customer to transfer their personal data. By completing this online form customers are giving us permission to send their information. Also customers can verify who they would like on their travel insurance policy as it may not be everyone on their Health Insurance Policy. 1
2 When does the travel insurance cover start? The travel insurance policy will start on the same date as the customer s health insurance policy start date. To redeem the free travel insurance offer customers must fill out the form on our website within 30 days of their health insurance purchase or renewal date. Who is providing the travel insurance? Allianz Global Assistance is our partner for the provision of the Annual Multi-trip Worldwide Travel Insurance Cover. Allianz Global Assistance, trading as Mondial Assistance Ireland Limited is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. Is the customer covered worldwide? Yes the Annual Multi-trip Worldwide Travel Insurance Covers customers for travel worldwide. Terms and Conditions do apply and can be found at the Allianz Global Assistance website, How many trips is the customer covered for? Customers are covered for an unlimited number of trips up to 31 days in duration. Can the customer add additional packs to the travel insurance plan (i.e. winter sports, golf etc.) Packs can be added for an extra charge to the travel insurance policy by contacting Allianz Global Assistance directly insurance@allianz-assistance.ie. What is the value of the travel insurance? The value of a travel insurance policy varies depending on customers age and the number of people they want included on their policy. Three plan types available for customer to redeem; 2
3 Individual Worldwide Multi-trip Travel Insurance Couples Worldwide Multi-trip Travel Insurance Family Worldwide Multi-trip Travel Insurance For any more detail we would recommend customers view the Allianz Global Assistance website, What is the definition of an individual, couple and family on the policy? In order to redeem the individual travel insurance policy the person must be over 18 years of age and have an Irish Life Health Insurance Plan included in the promotion. In order to redeem the couple travel insurance policy the people insured must be over 18 years of age and have an Irish Life Health Insurance Plan included in the promotion. The couple must be living at the same address for at least 6 months. In order to redeem the Family travel insurance policy, the family must be composed of a maximum of 6 members. Each child must be included as a fully paid member of the Irish Life Health, health insurance policy in order for the travel insurance policy to be valid. All insured adults (over 18 years of age) can travel independently, however all insured children (17 yrs or younger) must travel with at least one of the insured adults. 4 If a customer has more than 6 people on their health insurance policy what happens to the travel policy? If a family has more than 6 members customers should select a Family and Individual policy and add 6 of the family members to the Family policy and any other family members should be registered as Individual Policies. If neither of these combinations work when filling out the form, please us on heretohelp@irishlifehealth.ie Who do I contact with queries about the travel insurance? Customers can Allianz Global Assistance on insurance@allianz-assistance.ie. Will the customers travel insurance automatically renew? No. Customers are covered for twelve months at the end of which the policy will expire. What happens if the customer cancels their health insurance cover? Do they lose their travel insurance too? Health and travel insurance benefits are linked. On cancellation of a health insurance policy, a customers travel insurance cover will also be cancelled. If a customer has a family policy, can they all avail of the travel insurance offer? Yes. All members on your health insurance policy can avail of a travel insurance plan. A family consists of a maximum of 6 people. 4
5 Can customers add members to the travel insurance that don t have health insurance? The member s Travel Insurance policy must mirror the number of members listed on the member s Health Insurance policy. If a customer has the International Health and Travel Personalised Package on their plan. Does that mean they can t avail of this offer? Irish Life Health Tailored Health Plans are not included in this offer. However, on these plans there is an option to choose a Personalised Package that gives customers a free Annual Multi-trip Worldwide Travel Insurance policy through Allianz Global Assistance. Customers redeemed the travel insurance a week ago but still haven t received their documentation. Customers will receive this documentation once their health insurance policy has commenced and no later than 14 days after they have completed the online form. What if the customer would like to receive their documentation in the post? Unfortunately for this offer, travel documents can only be received via . What if the customer doesn t have an address? We cannot accept anything but the online form. If the customer does not have access to the internet, a relative or a friend can complete the form for them. Customer filled out their details on the form but didn t get a confirmation . A confirmation screen shows once customers have input their details. No confirmation will be issued. 5
6 The details on the customers documentation from Allianz Global Assistance are incorrect. What action should the customer take? Customers can contact Allianz Global Assistance by ing to change information on their documentation. If the customer doesn t need travel insurance, can they get a discount off their health insurance policy? No. All policies will stay the same price. The travel insurance offer is free, so if a customer chooses to not take it up, no alternative discounts will be offered. A customer already has travel insurance cover up to mid year Can they chose to start their policy when this policy expires? No, the travel insurance policy start date has to be the same start date as customers health insurance policy. If a customer renewed/bought a policy on December 31 st, can they get the free travel insurance offer? No. The free travel insurance offer is only for those members that join or renew on January 1 st February 28 th What if the customers renewal is not in January or February? Irish Life Health customers that are not eligible for our current travel insurance offer, can avail of a 20% discount code on an annual multi-trip travel policy through Amazing +. The code is case sensitive and can only be used to purchase an annual multi-trip policy from either the Bronze, Silver or Gold policies on the Allianz 6
7 website - it is not available through the call centre. Web address is: Do customers need to inform Irish Life Health or Allianz Global Assistance before they travel abroad? No, customers don t need to inform us. Customers are covered from the start date of their policy. If a customer has queries in relation to the cover of their travel insurance policy, who should they contact? Customers should contact Allianz Global Assistance by ing insurance@allianz-assistance.ie. What happens if some people on a policy are split between Tailored Health Plans and Health plans? Should a health insurance policy be made up of a combination of Tailored Health Plans and Health Plans, members who are on a Tailored Health Plan, and have selected the Travel & Sports Personalised Package or the International Health and Travel Personalised package, will receive their Travel Insurance Policy documentation into their Member Secure Area. Documents will only cover those lives who have selected the relevant Personalised Package on a Tailored Health Plan. Members who are on a Health Plan will need to complete the online form in order to redeem their Travel Insurance. This form is available here: 7
8 Will Irish Life Health be sending the customer details on how to get this travel offer? If the customer is new or renewing between the 1st January - 28th February, and receives their documents electronically from Irish Life Health, we will them details on where to register and a link to the online form. If the customer is new or renewing, and receives their documentation by post, Irish Life Health will include information on where to register in the customers renewal pack. 8 Irish Life Health dac is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.
