1 Kensington Harvest Festival August 17 th August 22 nd 2018 ART HANDICRAFT FOODS VEGETABLES Open to all residents of P.E.I. PLEASE READ ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS TWICE 1) All entries are entered at owner s risk, however all possible precautions will be takes. 2) All Art and Handicraft, Food and Vegetable exhibits will be received on Monday, August 20 th, 2018 from 9:00 to 12:00 p.m. (Judging begins at 12:30 p.m.) 3) All exhibits are to be removed from W.I. Room on Wednesday, August 22 nd after 9:00 p.m. or Thursday morning from 9-10:00 a.m. All entries after that are at the owner s risk. 4) Prize money is to be picked up when exhibits are removed on Wednesday night or Thursday morning. 5) Only one article per exhibitor can be placed in each section of a class and must have been made in the past year. All entries must be the sole work of the exhibitor and in new and clean condition. There are to be no identifying marks on the exhibit and names or initials should be well covered. 6) The Judges are fully qualified and competent. Their decision will be final. Handicraft articles will be judged on workmanship, coloring, design, and durability and overall appearance. The Judges may withhold prizes in any section if the standard of the work is inferior. 7) Please note: Any Exhibitor wishing to sell handicrafts in the W.I. Booth may do so. 10% is added to your price by the W.I. Committee. For sale articles will be marked following judges.

7 CLASS 3 VEGETABLES 2018 Co-Chairmen: Gwen Profitt (Phone ) Barbara Doughart ( ) Please bring your vegetables ready to be exhibited. Clean, on plates for display. Entries must be the product of the participant s own garden. Vegetables are to be delivered to Community Gardens between the hours of 9:00a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Monday August 21 st. Only one entry per person, per class. All ages may enter. Prizes are as follow: First prize $3.00; Second prize $2.00; Third prize $ Peppers: Green. Three fruit, stems cut level with shoulder of fruit 2. Peppers: Red. Three fruit, stems cut level with shoulder of fruit. 3. Beans: Yellow. 10 beans with ¼ - ½ inch stem still attached. 4. Beans: Green. 10 beans with ¼ - ½ inch stem still attached. 5. Zucchini: One fruit, at least 6 inches long. 6. Beets: Four beets with tops removed ½ inches above the crown. 7. Pumpkins: Any variety. 8. Carrots: 6 carrots, tops removed ½ inches above the crown. 9. Cucumber Three 10. Potatoes five tubers, any variety 11. Onions: Five mature onions, roots removed below the base, tops cut one inch above the bulb. 12. Red Onions: Five mature onions, roots removed below the base, tops cut one inch above the bulb. Tip: Dry and tidy up your onions but do not peel 13. Peas: Ten pods, ¼ inch of the stem attached. 14. Tomatoes: Four red fruit with stem left on. (Not cherry) 15. Tomatoes: Four green fruit with stems left on. (Not cherry) 16. Cabbage: One head Leave one set of leaves around the cabbage head. 1. The Harvest Festival Committee will donate a special prize of $10.00 for the entry placing first in the yellow beans section. 2. Long River W.I. will donate $10 to the top place carrots 3. Malpeque W.I. Will donate $10 to the top entry in beets.
