5 Trip Approval and Cancellation *IMPORTANT Our trip has not received final approval. I have submitted our proposal. 5

6 Trip Cancellation The CBE reserves the right to cancel a trip prior to and including the date of departure based upon the political and safety conditions in all countries throughout the world. Neither the CBE nor the Service Provider will be responsible for refunds due to trip cancellation. 7 Rationale We believe travel is a vital element of education. It is our belief that students will make stronger connections to their current curriculum and return to school more engaged, empowered and connected with ideas to share and present to their peers. By traveling internationally, students will get to see and experience firsthand places that they have only learned about in history books or in literature. It is our expectation that this international experience will inspire our students to become global citizens and expand their circle of care and concern to begin to think beyond themselves. I hope that they leave with greater confidence in themselves as individuals who can make a difference in their school, community and the world.

12 Payment for Private Tour Size of Group EF Fee CBE Insurance Cost of PreTrip + Jacket/Hoody Total The cost of the tour includes: Round-trip airfare, CBE travel insurance, a full-time EF Tour Director, hotels, breakfast and dinner daily, sightseeing tours led by licensed local guides, all tips and gratuities, and admission to special attractions. We will also be ordering light jackets or hoodies for each participant which will be included in the final cost. The only additional cost to students will be money for lunch and personal souvenirs.

14 Expectations for Behaviour Students of good academic and behavioural standing will be welcome on the trip. Participation on this school trip must be approved by school staff. Any concerns regarding a students participation will be discussed with the family. Students are ambassadors of their school, the CBE and their country. They are expected to act in accordance with the Bowness High School's Conduct and Behaviour Expectations and behave as positive role models and ambassadors. A behaviour contract will be sent home that outlines expectations that must be followed while on the trip that both parents and students are required to sign. Should there be a severe violation of the Code of Conduct, Mr. Koop will contact family and have the parents make arrangements to come and get their son or daughter at their own expense.

15 Expectations (continued) MISSING SCHOOL Speak with teachers at the beginning of the semester to give them notice about this absence. Your son/daughter needs to make arrangements to either complete work or write tests in advance or upon our return. ATTENDING ALL PRE-TRIP MEETINGS Students will be expected to attend meetings in preparation for the trip.

16 CANADIAN PASSPORTS Students must have a valid and current Canadian Passport. Parents will also be required to complete a Consent to Travel letter prior to our trip departure.

17 Fundraising Ms. Toma is organizing student fundraising. Students can choose to participate and raise money towards their trip. The next fundraiser is Pointsetta Sales and Gift Cards. Any parent interested in organizing a separate fundraiser may contact Ms. Berry.
