3 Planning Policy Context Before any development can occur on the, the Region will undertake a Municipal Comprehensive Review (MCR) to conform to the planning policies in the Regional (ROP) and the 2017 Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe for settlement boundary expansions. Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe (2017) The ROP is a long-term policy document to guide growth and development while protecting the environment and effectively managing resources. The 2017 Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe establishes a land use planning framework for the Greater Golden Horseshoe that supports the achievement of complete communities, a thriving economy, a clean and healthy environment, and social equity.
4 Municipal Comprehensive Review (MCR) A Municipal Comprehensive Review (MCR) is a comprehensive application of the policies and schedules of the 2017 Growth Plan that is initiated by an upper- or single-tier municipality under Section 26 of the Planning Act. The following studies were completed to satisfy the MCR requirements:

6 Proposed Regional The policy objectives of the proposed ROPA are: Include the into the 2031 Regional Urban Boundary and into DGA 350 hectares land area (865 acres) City of Mississauga s Designated Greenfield Area (DGA), representing the addition of approximately 350 hectares (865 acres) of land Accommodate 8500 people and 510 jobs for a density of at least 80 people and jobs combined per hectare 80 residents and jobs per hectare Accommodate 3500 housing units, which will contribute to City of Mississauga s affordable housing targets 3500 housing units Recognize, protect, and enhance a linked Natural Heritage System within Natural Heritage System Plan for the provision of major infrastructure, including the proposed 407 Transitway and other transit infrastructure, while minimizing the financial Efficient transportation network impact on the Region of Peel and local municipalities Ensure development is financially responsible, environmentally sustainable, and achieves healthy communities Responsible development
