The model helps to answer the following questions: Where are w e n ow and how d o w e know? Where are w e g oing and w hen w ill w e b e d o ne? What are w e d o ing t o get w here w e need t o b e? The Integrated Analysis Model contains three steps: Analyze Past Performance Predict Future Performance Formulate a Plan of Action While it is useful to define a model in discrete steps like this, it is important to remember that all three steps are inter- related. Both the contractor and the Government follow a similar analysis process. The contractor reports the results of the analysis, including the management actions taken, in the Integrated Program Management Report ( I PMR). After completing a thorough analysis of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS ) elements' performance to date, analysts look to the future to predict future cost, schedule, and technical performance. Control account managers (CAMs ) update their estimates at completion ( EACs ) for their control accounts based on the latest available information. Their management uses this information to construct the formal program/ contract EACs, explaining any differences between the management and CAM estimates. The contractor then reports the formal program/ contract EAC ( most likely), as well as a best case and a worst case EAC in the monthly JPMR. The Government also develops a comprehensive EAC to serve as the Government PMO EAC. As the contract work progresses, the Government updates the PMO EAC as necessary to reflect contract status accurately. To help the PMO decide when to update its detailed EAC, the PMO may use the following steps when it receives the JPMR: Analyze EAC Reasonableness Develop a Government Independent EAC Maintaining an up- to- date EAC reflective of contract status is an important program management responsibility for both the contractor and the Government....
