37 University Division vs Direct Admit If you are a Direct Admit (DA) to an academic degree program (Accounting, History, Biology, etc.) then you have both a school/major academic advisor and a HHSP academic advisor. If you are not a DA then you are in the University Division (UDIV), and your academic advisor is your HHSP advisor until you certify into a degree program. Once you certify into a degree program, you will have a new academic advisor within your major. Regardless of whether you enter IU as a Direct Admit or through University Division, you will have an HHSP Advisor throughout your 4 years at IU. I N D I A N A U N I V E R S I T Y 37
