On Monday, February 22, 2016, all Farmers Exchange Bank offices will become Hometown Bank offices. With this merger, we want to assure you of our commitment to the communities and surrounding areas of Neshkoro, Redgranite and Wautoma. As a customer, your bank accounts either have been converted or are in the process of being converted to the Hometown Bank system. Our goal is to make this transition as smooth as possible while providing you with personalized, exceptional service. This is a tradition we ve upheld with our customers since What s in This Booklet? The table of contents found on page 2 gives you a quick view of what you will find in this booklet along with action steps you need to take. We ve provided you with a great deal of information. If you choose to simply keep this booklet in case you have questions in the future, we encourage you to at least familiarize yourself with the convenient, new services and products that will soon be available to you. 4 Important Dates and Timelines The dates below pertain to converting your Farmers Exchange Bank account(s) to the Hometown Bank system. Please make a note of any dates that will affect you. As the merger resulted in two branches so close to one another, we carefully considered the benefits of each location. 8 Frequently Asked Questions About the Merger Who is Hometown Bank? Hometown Bank is a small, community-minded bank headquartered in Fond du Lac. It is privately owned by local investors who purchased the State Bank of St Cloud (a few miles east of Fond du Lac) in The bank has total assets of $210 million and 43 employees throughout its five branches in Fond du Lac, Appleton, St. Cloud and Wautoma. Hometown Bank s approach to banking has remained steadfast and focused on community banking and local decision making with a devotion to the communities it serves. You can read more about Hometown Bank at HTBWI.com. Will Farmers Exchange Bank change its name to Hometown Bank? Yes, after the full merger is completed. This is scheduled to occur the weekend of February 20 and 21. You may start to see the Hometown brand before the actual merger weekend as we begin to migrate Farmers Exchange Bank to Hometown Bank. On Monday morning, February 22, all Farmers Exchange Bank locations will be fully coverted to Hometown Bank. How will the bank merger impact me as a customer of Farmers Exchange Bank? We are working hard toward a seamless transition. Until full conversion of all systems, on February 22, 2016 you will see minimal changes to your day-to-day banking. What does this mean for me? You will see the same exceptional service and commitment to the community while working with the same bankers who know you best. Additionally: You will see a wider array of products, and you can expect to see some minor changes in the products you currently use. A wider network of banking centers will be available to meet your needs after the conversion. Our increased size and scale will provide increased lending limits for our customers. Most importantly, Hometown Bank makes decisions locally, has a strong balance sheet and operates with the goal of helping communities in Wisconsin. What will happen to the Farmers Exchange Bank employees? Hometown will retain all the Farmers Exchange Bank employees. Farmers Exchange Bank employees are helping to create a smooth transition during the merger and Hometown Bank is proud to welcome the employees into the family. After the merger, will everything be centralized at Hometown Bank s headquarters in Fond du Lac? Some operations have been centralized, but Hometown will maintain local decision making and continue a strong regional presence. Is Hometown Bank active in the community? Yes. As a community bank, Hometown is committed to the communities we serve and Wisconsin as a whole. Our people are active, engaged and focused on making our community a better place to live. 9 General Information, Locations, ATMs and Hours Will my checking account number change? Checking accounts: While 98 percent of all account numbers have remained the same, a small number of our checking customers were notified that their account numbers would be changed. Those changes occurred on or before January 15, If a change was needed, you would have been contacted. Savings account customers: A minimal number of savings account numbers will change over conversion weekend. If your account is impacted, you will receive a letter in the mail. What will happen with the Wautoma location? Since the merger will result in our having two locations in Wautoma, the Farmers Exchange Bank branch at W7452 State Road 21 & 73 will permanently close on Friday, February 19 at 5 p.m. The Farmers Exchange Bank employees from this location will relocate to the existing Hometown Bank branch just one mile west at 105 Plaza Road in Wautoma. Beginning Monday, February 22, 2016, customers will be able to continue their banking services at the combined branch location at 105 Plaza Road. Will the merger affect the hours at the branch I currently use? Branch hours will remain the same in the weeks leading up to and in the months following the conversion date. You will be notified in advance of any permanent changes to hours at the branch you use. Will the phone number of my branch remain the same? Yes, and the phone number at the FEB Wautoma branch will automatically forward to the HTB Plaza Road location. All toll free numbers will remain the same. Will ATM locations change? The ATM located in Neshkoro will be branded as Hometown Bank and continue to be available to use. The ATM at the Farmers Exchange Wautoma location at W7452 State Road 21 & 73 will no longer be available effective the close of business February 19, You will have access to Hometown Bank ATMs in Fond du Lac and Plaza Road Wautoma as well. 10 Frequently Asked Questions Deposit Account Information Will my bank statement look different than what I have now? Yes. After we complete the systems integration in February, you will begin to receive Hometown Bank formatted statements in the mail or sent electronically if you are enrolled in e-statements. For security purposes, we will discontinue hand delivery of statements at our branches. 80 SHEBOYGAN ST FOND DU LAC WI When will I receive my final Farmers Exchange Bank statement? All customers with a checking, savings or money market account will receive a Farmers Exchange Bank statement through February 19, 2016 (cutoff statement). This final statement will be mailed the week of February 22, 2016 by its usual delivery method (mail or e-statement). At the time of this cutoff statement, any interest earned for the period (where applicable) will be credited to your account. The generation of a cutoff statement may result in two statements being processed and mailed to you during the month of conversion, one for the period of your last statement date to the conversion date and a statement covering the period from the conversion date to your next regular statement date. Due to the account changeover mid-month, any monthly account maintenance or per item fees will be waived for the first Hometown Bank full statement cycle. Your statement cycle will not change. When will I receive my first Hometown Bank account statement? Your statement will be mailed or sent electronically (if enrolled in Hometown Bank e-statements) about the same time of the month you receive your current Farmers Exchange Bank statement. You have the option of either delivery method. We encourage you to consider enrolling in Hometown Bank e-statements to save time and costs and gain added security. Simply visit HTBWI.com/e-Statements.aspx to see how, or ask one of our friendly team members. Easy to follow instructions are also on page 30 of this guide. I currently receive all my account statements in one combined statement, will this continue? If you currently receive a combined statement (one statement with multiple accounts), this service will be temporarily discontinued. After conversion, our banking team will perform the work necessary to resume the service for you. How can I obtain copies of my deposit statements after February 22, 2016? Enroll in Hometown Bank s online statements, and your future statements will be available for you online. To request a prior paper statement, visit one of our branches or call our Customer Service Center at Will my branch still be able to provide my transaction history and print copies of checks that were processed prior to February 22, 2016? Yes, Hometown Bank retains past statement and check records per its retention schedule. After the system conversion, your former FEB records will continue to be available upon request at your local branch. 10 Hometown Bank Welcome Guide

11 What if I have deposits at both banks? Should I move some for FDIC purposes? How will that work? Both Farmers Exchange Bank and Hometown Bank are FDIC insured institutions. As a result of the merger, on February 19, 2016, the deposits from FEB will be combined with the deposits at Hometown Bank. The combined balances will determine whether a depositor has exceeded the FDIC insurance limit, except that deposits at FEB prior to the merger will generally receive separate insurance coverage for six months from the date of the merger. This grace period provides an opportunity to restructure accounts, if necessary, to ensure the accounts do not exceed the insurance threshold. Certificates of Deposit from FEB are generally separately insured until the earliest maturity date after the end of the six-month grace period. Will my routing number change? Yes, your routing number will change to on February 22, However, items with the former FEB routing number, including FEB checks, will continue to be routed and processed correctly with the exception of incoming wires. See page 13 for wire instructions. Will I still be able to use my Farmers Exchange Bank checks or will I receive new checks? You may continue to use your existing Farmers Exchange Bank checks until you are ready to reorder. When you reorder after February 22, 2016, use Hometown Bank s routing number, , for your new checks. You can reorder at any Hometown Bank branch or by calling our Customer Service Center at Will I automatically receive new deposit slips? New deposit slips will not be needed. You may continue to use your existing Farmers Exchange Bank deposit slips until you are ready to reorder. Will the features of my account be the same? Our conversion team has worked to ensure that minimal (if any) changes to your account will occur. To review the specific details of your new Hometown Bank account, please read the Account Conversion Chart that begins on page 15 for personal and 20 for business accounts. Will my account fees change? Much work has been done to ensure that only minimal changes will occur. Please see the Consumer Account Conversion Chart on page 15 for specific details. Other miscellaneous account charges for services like wire transfers, stop payments, overdrafts, etc. are published for your convenience on pages 17 and 18. The same holds true for FEB business customers. Please refer to our Business Account Conversion Chart on page 20 to see how your current account will merge into Hometown Bank s system. I received a new Truth-in-Savings in the mail. How does that notice affect my account? The new Truth-in-Savings Disclosure sent to Carefree Checking, Interest Checking, Savings, Money Market and Health Savings account holders is a disclosure that covers the new terms and conditions of your account with Hometown Bank. It outlines your account s minimum balances and other terms and conditions that may be different from your Farmers Exchange account. The Truth-in-Savings for Savings, Money Market and Health Savings accounts lists a $5 paper statement fee. Does that apply to my account at conversion? No. While we encourage e-statements, the paper statement fee that may have been noted on your Truth-in-Savings will be waived for FEB customers converting to Hometown Bank for up to 12 months (and potentially longer). The Truth-In-Savings you received in the mail is the standard disclosure that applies to new accounts opened. Your account migrated from Farmers Exchange and therefore that fee will be waived. How do I enroll in e-statements? Enrollment in Online Banking provides you access to e-statements. Easy-to-follow instructions begin on page 30, or visit our website at HTBWI.com Will overdraft protection for my personal checking account continue? Yes, your overdraft protection will continue as normal. Debit and Credit Cards Will I be able to continue using my Farmers Exchange Bank Visa debit card? No, it will be deactivated Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 2 a.m. Your Hometown Bank debit MasterCard will be mailed on February 11, Upon receipt, there are Action Items you need to take that are outlined on the letter included with your card. 12 Frequently Asked Questions Can I continue to use my Farmers Exchange Bank VISA credit card? Watch for your new VISA credit card to arrive in the mail the week of February 29, You will get a letter from Elan notifying you of this change the week of February 15. You can continue to use your Farmers Exchange card for approximately 90 days after you receive your Hometown Bank card, however, we strongly advise you to activate your new Hometown Bank card as soon as you receive it and destroy your current Farmers Exchange Bank card. Once you activate your new card, your old card will no longer work. Your new Hometown Bank card will have the latest chip-enabled EMV technology. Your expiration date may have changed, along with the 3-digit security code on the reverse side of your card. If you have any bills automatically charged to your credit card, please be sure to contact those service providers with your new expiration date and security code. Personal Online Banking and Electronic Services Will my online banking access change? Yes. All Personal Online Banking customers need to enroll in Hometown Bank s feature-enhanced online banking system. This is an Action Item you need to complete. See page 23 for step-by-step instructions. You may also visit our Online Banking webpage at HTBWI.com/Enroll.aspx for details and a link to watch demonstrations of the conveniences that come with using these new services. Enrollment in Online Banking gives you access to our Mobile App, e-statements, Bill Pay, Pop Money and more. Instructions on how to enroll in all these services begin on page 27. What should I expect on my first log in? Establish your User ID and Password Set security data You will be presented with our Online Banking agreement to accept or decline You will be presented with the option to enroll in mobile banking You will be presented with the option to enroll for e-statements You will see the overview page for your accounts Will my direct deposit be affected? Any direct deposits you currently have through Farmers Exchange Bank will be forwarded directly to your new Hometown Bank account for deposit. If individuals or companies currently direct deposit to your account, you should provide notice to the sender of the transaction to let them know that your bank s routing number has changed. Your notice to the sender should indicate that your new Hometown Bank routing number will be: for all transactions after February 22, A courtesy form is on page 39 to aid in that request. If you do not notify the sender of this change, your direct deposit will continue to post for some time after the effective date of February 22, 2016, however, to ensure that all future deposits are received on time, it is advisable to give the sender this courtesy notice within a reasonable time period of days after February 22, What about automatic payments made from my Farmers Exchange Bank deposit account? All previously authorized automatic payments will continue as normal. Please use Hometown Bank s routing number ( ) to set up future automatic payments or transfers after February 22, I have automatic funds transfer between my deposit accounts. What action must I take? No action is necessary; your automatic transfer between deposit accounts will continue as normal. If you have a scheduled or reoccurring transfer set up through your online banking, a customer service representative will be contacting you between now and the merger date. Business Online Banking Hometown Bank provides businesses with an online banking platform especially designed for the key needs of our business customers. Our Business Online Banking packages can help you to securely manage your daily banking information, improve your cash flow and help protect your cash assets from the increasing risk of account fraud. Will it get sold? No. Hometown Bank will retain your mortgage loans. All loans currently serviced by Farmers Exchange will be serviced by Hometown Bank. Will the merger affect my existing Farmers Exchange Bank loan? No changes will be made to the existing payments, loan rates or maturity. If you have a home equity line of credit (HELOC), a personal loan account (PLA) or a business line of credit, your interest cycle may change slightly. See page 40 for details. Will my loan account number change? No. Your loan account number will remain the same. Will my loan statement change? Every loan will convert to a Hometown Bank product. If you currently use a coupon book, continue to do so. If you receive monthly loan billing statements, use the payment stub on the bottom to remit your payment. Where do I mail my loan payments made on or after February 20, 2016? Payments can be made at any branch location or mailed to: Hometown Bank Loan Servicing Department 80 Sheboygan Street Fond du Lac, WI Will my loan officer change? No, you will continue to work with your current officer. My loan payment is automatically deducted from my deposit account. Will that service continue? Yes, automatic payments will continue as usual, on the same schedule. Other How do I receive a wire transfer? To receive a wire transfer to your account, please provide the following information to the individual or business that is sending the funds: Domestic (U.S.): Wire Routing Transit Number: Bank Name: Hometown Bank City, State: Fond du Lac, WI Your Account Number: Your full account number Title of Account: The name of your account as it appears on your statement There is a cost for receiving a wire transfer. 14 Account Number Information How do I send a wire transfer? To send a wire transfer, please call or visit a Hometown Bank location. Our professional staff will be happy to help you with your request. What about my safe deposit box at Farmers Exchange Bank? Safe deposit boxes will continue to be available during branch business hours. The boxes at the Farmers Exchange Bank Wautoma location will be professionally and securely moved the week of February 15, Those with boxes at that location will receive a special letter indicating what they need to do. If there are no breakable items, you do not need to do anything. The price of your safe deposit box rental will remain the same. What is Hometown Bank s privacy policy? Hometown maintains physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to ensure your non-public information remains secure. We will adhere to the privacy policies and practices described in our privacy policy at all times. You can find the policy in the Disclosure Section of this guide. Where do I find more information on Hometown Bank s products and services? All of our professional staff members will be happy to assist you in learning more about the wide array of services available to you as a result of this merger with Hometown Bank. We will continue to offer you mortgage-based services, home equity and personal loans, and many new deposit account services like online Banking with Bill Pay, Mobile Deposit and Popmoney to name a few. 21 Card Services Your New Hometown Bank Debit Card If you currently have a FEB debit card, you will be issued a new one displaying the Hometown Bank logo. It will be mailed on February 11, 2016 and arrive in a plain white envelope along with instructions on what to do. We suggest that upon receipt of your card in the mail, call to activate it and select your PIN. It will then be ready to use at the time of conversion. There will not be a separate PIN mailer. FEBRUARY 19 2pm When can I start using my new Hometown Bank debit card? You may start using your new card on Friday February 19 at 2 p.m., provided it has been activated. FEBRUARY 20 2am Can I still use my Farmers Exchange Bank debit card? You can use your current FEB debit card until Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 2 a.m. CST after which it will automatically stop working. How do I activate my new debit/atm card? Call the phone number located on the sticker on the face of your new card. That number is You will be able to activate your card and select your PIN at the same time after verifying security questions. You may activate your card any time after you receive it in the mail, but you will not be able to use the card until February 19, 2016 at 2 p.m. Will I have the same card number and expiration date? No, you will have a new card number and most likely a new expiration date. Since your new card number and expiration date may differ from your Farmers Exchange card, please remember to notify merchants of your new card number and expiration date. What should I do if I have automatic payments linked to my debit card? If you have any automatic payments linked to your FEB debit card, you will need to notify those vendors of your new Hometown Bank card number and expiration date, effective February 19, If you do not change your debit card information, any payments that attempt to be paid from your FEB debit card will be rejected as of February 19, What if I do not receive my new debit card? If you have not received your new debit card by February 18, 2016, please contact customer service at What fees apply to my card? You may incur a fee by using a non-hometown Bank ATM. These fees vary based on the ATM used. What are the daily limits on my new card? ATM Limit POS*Limit $500 $2,500 *POS (Point of Sale): This refers to purchases made with your debit card at any retail locations (includes online purchases). Will I still be able to use the same ATMs? Your new Hometown Bank debit card may be used the same as your Farmers Exchange card. Just like before, no fees will apply at any Hometown Bank locations. As of February 22, 2016, you will be able to use any Hometown Bank ATM along with the ATM in Neshkoro free of charge. The ATM at W7452 State Road 21 & 73 Wautoma will no longer be available. The vast network of ATMs remains available; however, you could be subject to a fee at ATMs outside our network. Yes, you should contact us as soon as possible to ensure that your card will work properly while you travel; especially if you plan to travel outside the United States. If you use your card internationally, fees of 3% of the transaction amount on ATM withdrawals and debit card purchases apply, plus a currency conversion fee of.02% of the transaction amount on PIN-based ATM or debit card transactions fees. Are there countries that are blocked or restricted for debit card purchases or ATM usage? Yes. Our Fraud Protection system prevents transactions from blocked countries. Will my new debit card be EMV chip-enabled? EMV (Europay, Mastercard and Visa ) chip technology is becoming the global standard. Hometown Bank is scheduled to transition all of its cards in August You will receive a replacement card later this year with chip technology free of charge. You will receive a text message with instructions on how to use the text banking service. Click Continue when finished. Select the appropriate time zone from the drop down box. Plus, gain peace of mind: e-statements are more secure than regular mail. Please Note: You will be required to enroll in Hometown Bank Online Banking in order to receive your statements electronically. If you are continuing from your Online Banking enrollment, see instructions below; Or To enroll in Online Banking, go back to the easy, step-by-step instructions that begin on page 23. To enroll: Complete the following (for assistance, see screen image below). 1) Check the boxes next to each account you wish to enroll in e-statements. 2) Enter your address into the Confirm Address field. 3) Click on the Electronic Statement Terms and Conditions link to review the terms and conditions. The Terms and Conditions will pop up on a new page for your review. Please make note of the Confirmation Code on the last page of the Terms and Conditions Disclosure. 33 Electronic Banking Read through the Privacy Policy Disclosure. Once finished, click in the box next to I Accept and click Continue. You are now successfully enrolled in Online Bill Pay. You can now begin entering the payees you would like to pay bills for. You can do this by searching by company name or using the different categories to search. 34 Electronic Banking Enter the account number your payment should be credited to. This information can be found on your monthly bill. If you would like to nickname this bill, click on Nickname and enter what you would like Bill Pay to display from now on. Click Next Step to continue. Enter how much you want to pay, the date you want to make the payment, and click Make Payment. You will be directed to a confirmation screen. Continue adding payees until all the companies you wish to pay have been entered. The Bill Pay system will store all the information you entered for future use. 35 Electronic Banking If you clicked on Finish Later, the following screen will appear. Click Finish This Step Later. When you are finished entering Payees, click on Go to my List of Bills and you will be directed to the Payment Center. The Payment Center will be the first page that loads after clicking Bill Pay in the future. From this screen you will see all the companies you ve entered and can schedule payments. The Bill Pay system will send payments electronically, however, a check will be sent if electronic payment isn t possible. 36 Electronic Banking Popmoney New Product Offering: POPMONEY Popmoney is an easy, fast and secure online personal payment service. Imagine sending money to a friend to pay your half of the lunch bill; requesting payment from someone who owes you money; or receiving a payment from anyone directly to your bank account. If you would like the convenience of Popmoney, follow these simple enrollment instructions. To enroll in Popmoney, click on the Bill Pay tab after logging into Online Banking. Click on the Popmoney tab near the top of your screen. Verify the phone number and address that prefill on the screen. These will be what you previously provided Hometown Bank. Review the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and click the box next to I have read and accept the Popmoney Terms of Service and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. 37 Electronic Banking The Popmoney home screen is where you can send money, request money, review activity, add contacts and choose preferences. To send money to or request money from another person, follow the instructions under the appropriate tab. Once a person is set up, they will be saved in the Popmoney system for future use.
