1 How to Pay a bill using the Malaysian Bill Payment service (JomPAY) Your System Administrator must entitle you to the Bill Payment service and to the Debit accounts from which you are making payments. You can create a new payment in one of two ways: Create a one-time or single bill payment, or Set up a recurring bill payment 1. Access Pay Bills on the Bill Payments tab or any other location on your personal page. Pay Bills lets you make multiple payments from your debit account to multiple payees in HSBCnet. You can choose to pay up to 10 bills in one transaction. 2. Select a Location and Debit account and select Pay bills. 3. The Bill Payment details page appears. Select either HBMB or HBMS as Institution. Select Service as JomPAY Bill Payments. Choose Submit to proceed. The Create payment page appears for JomPAY: Payment options section allows you to choose the payment date: As soon as possible, On a specific date, or As a recurring payment. 2 One-time payment 4. Chose Pay existing biller, select the Find biller to pick a biller from. You can select the desired payee by choosing the Biller code from the Available Biller list After you have selected a biller, the biller information is populated on the Payment creation page. 3 5. After entering the amount in the Amount field, select Validate to perform Pre-Validation of the biller information. Each validation takes a maximum of 20 seconds. Once the Pre-validation is successful, the page displays a message confirming the status. Even after Pre-validation is completed, you can choose to Edit or Remove the validated bill payment. You can select Add another bill payment to display a new Payment details section to input a second payment. Each subsequent bill payment created must first be validated before creating the next payment. Issued by HSBC Bank plc Published: March 2017 Page 3 of 5
4 Note: If the validation is unsuccessful, an error message appears and the payment cannot be processed. You have the option to either enter the correct information, or remove the payment or change the payee to another valid payee. 6. Choose Make payment to submit the bill payments on this screen for processing. 7. An acknowledgement confirms your action. If your company follows Dual Authorization Control, another. Authoriser must approved the payment Note: For Dual Transaction Control (DTC) users the payment creation is a two steps process, however for Single Transaction Control (STC) users the payment creation is a three steps process. Shown above is the 2 step process. Forward-dated Payments In the Create payment step, under the Payment options section of the Bill Payment creation page, select On a specific date to create a Forward-dated payment for up to 45 days in advance. A calendar widget appears allowing you to choose a date later than today s date. The date field is mandatory. An error message appears if the selected date is earlier than the current date, later than 45 days from today or if it falls on a Malaysian holiday. 5 A recurring bill payment: To create a Recurring Payment, choose As a recurring payment option in the Payment options section. Additional information and options appear on the page. A message informs you that: Note: if your payment date falls on a non-business day, it will be adjusted and payment will be made on a business day. Complete all the mandatory fields (marked with an asterisk *) in the Payment Options and Payment details sections on that page. Ensure that the information is first validated. Then select Make payment to proceed to the Confirm and authorise page Authenticating your payment transaction In certain cases you may be prompted to digitally authenticate your payment transactions using your Security Device when creating or repairing certain types of payments.
