1 Welcome to Selftrade Let s get started
2 Welcome to Selftrade Step 1 Let s get started I am delighted to welcome you to your new ISA provider, Selftrade. We are one of the UK s largest online investment platforms offering a flexible choice of investments and account types. but over the long term this could prove to be an effortless way to build your existing investment into a substantial amount. Further information about this useful service can be found on page 7. Visit Selftrade.co.uk/hisl-transfer Here you will find further information about the transfer and your next steps. Please read the information then select Login. Please take the time to read this user guide as it will help you login to your Selftrade account and guide you through how to begin investing online. Invest from 50 per month Selftrade offer a wide range of UK and International Shares, Bonds and Gilts, Exchange Traded Funds, Unit Trusts and Open Ended Investment Companies so you can build on the investments held in your ISA. Whether your plans for the future include a dream holiday, paying for your children s or grandchildren s university fees or saving for a long and happy retirement, you can start building your financial future with us using our regular investment service. Investing regularly can help you to get into the habit of investing without having to manage it yourself. Once you have decided what to invest in, you can leave us to invest your money at the same time each month. You also don t have to worry about about picking the best days, or avoiding the worst days, to invest your money.* As you can invest from as little as 50 per month, you may not even notice this amount from your monthly expenditure, Market news To help you keep up to date with investment news, our weekly newsround, monthly newsletter and quarterly digital magazine Investment Edge can be ed to you. Please provide us with your current address when you login to your Selftrade account. We will only send you relevant information. Further information Further information about the transfer, copies of forms and this user guide can be found at Selftrade.co.uk/hisl-transfer. If you have any questions not answered by this guide or the website, please telephone Customer Services on or +44 (0) for international callers. Lines are open 07:45 to 19:00, Monday to Friday. With very best wishes Mark Taylor, CEO Equiniti Financial Services Limited Login to validate your account Your account number is similar to your LBG / HISL account number and can be found on your welcome letter. Please take note of your account number as you will need it, your date of birth and PIN, to login to your Selftrade account online, or by phone, in the future. Your PIN will be posted to you separately. On the left hand side of the screen (Customer side), enter your account number, date of birth and PIN. You may change your PIN once you have successfully logged into your account. Accept Selftrade s Terms and Conditions If you did not consent to the transfer of your ISA to Selftrade, you must accept the Terms and Conditions before accessing your account. After logging in to your account, a screen will pop up with a link to the Terms and Conditions. Please tick the box to confirm you have read and accept the Terms and Conditions. Login problems If you experience any problems with login or if you do not have internet access, please contact Customer Services: Phone: (07:45 19:00 UK time Monday Friday) info@selftrade.co.uk If you forget your login credentials at any time, please telephone Customer Services. * The value of investments can fall as well as rise and any income from them is not guaranteed and you may get back less than you invested. Add or amend your telephone number and address Please provide your address so you can stay up to date with movements in the market, market trends and receive useful articles and information from us, You will be sent: a weekly update on the markets a monthly newsletter giving helpful information, hints, tips and guides a quarterly magazine information about special offers or services from time to time We will only send you relevant information about investing. You can opt out of receiving these at any time. Check your name and postal address is correct If your name or postal address is incorrect, please complete and return the Change of Personal Details form with any relevant documents. Add your bank details We require your bank details to enable money to be paid directly to your bank account when you wish to withdraw cash. We will also set up a Direct Debit so that you can pay money into your Selftrade Account, either on a regular basis or as a one-off payment. We can also collect any fees when they become due. We will never debit your bank account without notifying you first. Your Portfolio To view the investments you hold within your ISA, select Shares ISA. This will take you to your Portfolio page where the details of the investments you hold can be viewed.
4 Step 4 Payments into your account Step 5 Set up a regular investment You may transfer money from your bank account to your account by direct debit, bank transfer or debit card. Direct Debit Investing in the stock market on a monthly basis helps to smooth out the ups and downs of the market in the long term so can reduce any worries you may have about the right time to buy. 1 From your Portfolio select: Manage Account then Regular Deposit. 2 The Regular Deposit page will be displayed. 3 To set up a new Regular Deposit select: Create. 4 Complete the instruction. Remember setting up a direct debit can take up to ten business days to become active. Debit card (for immediate funding) and bank transfer (to pay in from your nominated bank account) From your Portfolio select Manage Account then Payments. ISA Declaration If you are adding money to your ISA, you will need to complete a new ISA declaration. 1 From your Portfolio select Manage Account then Regular Investment. 2 The Regular Investment page will be displayed. 3 To set up a new Regular Investment select Add. 4 Enter the security name or the symbol and select Submit. 5 Your chosen investment will be displayed if it is eligible for Regular Investment.* 6 To add the investment, select the green plus button. 7 Enter the value of the monthly investment and select Add. 8 The Regular Investment instruction will be confirmed and will be dealt on the 22 day of each month (or the next working day) until the instruction is amended or cancelled. * Regular Investment is available on thousands of investments, including shares, ETFs, traditional Funds and Investment Trusts. If there is something in which you wish to invest and you find it is not currently available, please let us know and we will look to make it available. Note: The investment will only execute if there are available funds in the cash account so you may need to set up a monthly direct debit from your bank account as well.
5 Step 6 Begin investing online Dealing hours are: For the UK market 08:00 16:30 (UK time) For the US market 09:30 16:00 (ET) The easiest way to make an investment is to enter the Portfolio page you wish to trade from and select Place Order from the drop down menu. Your quote will display for 15 seconds. Select Confirm to place the order. Enter the name of the investment you wish to trade. Select the correct investment from the list and select the green + for buy or the red - for sell. Select At Best, the amount you wish to invest or the quantity you wish to buy or sell. At Best is the order to buy or sell immediately at current market prices. You may also trade direct from the page of the investment you wish to buy or sell You may choose to place a Limit Order which is an order to buy or sell a stock when it reaches a specific price or better. Please note: a Limit Order is not guaranteed to execute.
