1 1 REGISTRATION AND FEES You can register for Camp Thunderbird on-line at The web page will compute all the fees for you, and you can pay all your fees via PayPal (you don't need a PayPal account to do this). If you pay all your fees via PayPal at registration time, you will receive a 5% discount. A $20 late fee is required for all payments (including partial payments) postmarked after June 15. Note that this is a change from previous years policy. We no longer charge a fee for late registrations; instead, we will charge a fee for late payments. This change was made because starting in 2017, Camp Thunderbird requires UUCEP to pre-pay all camp fees. Camp begins with dinner on Friday, June 30, and ends after breakfast on Wednesday, July 5. (Note: no lunch will be served on Tuesday July 4, but materials for making your own sack lunch will be available immediately after breakfast.) You may attend the entire time, or any part, but the registrar must know your arrival and departure times. The camp staff purchases supplies based on the daily attendance expected based on registrations received. If you find that you cannot attend for the exact period for which you register, you must notify the registrar on or before June 15 in order to receive a refund. (The refund policy is described in detail below.) The registrar can be reached via at tbird@uuelpaso.org, or by phone at (915) (this is Joe Knapka's personal cell phone, please call only if you have a specific concern about your registration). The registration fee is $25 for every person 16 or older, if that person spends at least one night at camp. If you are not going to be at camp for at least one night, then you can drop in and pay according to the arrival time chart below. The camp fee is $48 per day for adults, and $24 per day for children 10 and under. When you send in your registration for camp (assuming you do not pay on-line), you will send in two checks, one for the registration fee and the other for your camp fee. The first will pay for UUCEP s overhead costs of running the camp, and the second for your room and board while you are at camp. 2. The check for your registration fee will be deposited as soon as it is received by the registrar. This small fee is non-refundable. 3. The check for your camp fee will not be deposited earlier than June 15, and may be post dated to June 15. This check MUST accompany your registration packet, if you do not pay on-line. Registrations received without camp fee payment will be discarded. 4. If your stay at camp is shorter than or longer than you anticipated when you registered AND you notify the registrar of the change by June 15 AND you deliver a new check for the changed amount before June 15, then you will be charged only for the days you actually attend camp. This includes complete cancellation of your camp stay, in which case your camp fees will be refunded if they have already been paid. 6. In all other cases your original check will be cashed and you will pay for the days for which you registered. If you stay at camp longer than the time for which you registered, you will need to pay the camp fees for the extra time, as well as the $20 late-payment fee.

2 2 Waiver and release of liability The registrant s signature on the registration form indicates agreement with the following terms: 1. They are 18 years of age or older. 2. They are submitting this release, waiver of liability, and assumption of risk declaration voluntarily, on behalf of each person appearing on this registration, of their own free will. 3. No person appearing on the registration has any physical or emotional problems, or history thereof, which will impair their ability to utilize the facilities and services of Camp Thunderbird in a safe manner. 4. They understand and agree that it is their responsibility and the responsibility of each person appearing on the registration to assess the hazards presented by their use of Camp Thunderbird s facilities and services, and further agree that they are the ultimate judges as to whether they can use these facilities and services without risk to themselves. 5. They understand and EXPRESSLY ASSUME all dangers incident to using Camp Thunderbird s facilities and services, and hereby release ALL CLAIMS, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage or destruction, and death, whether caused by NEGLIGENCE, breach of contract or otherwise, which they may ever have against Camp Thunderbird or the Unitarian Universalist Community of El Paso arising from or incidental to their attendance at Camp Thunderbird. 6. They agree to allow photographs of themselves that may be taken in connection with Camp Thunderbird activities to be used by Camp Thunderbird and/or the Unitarian Universalist Community of El Paso for publicity and advertisement purposes.

The entire Example family gets to attend Camp Thunderbird for several days at a total cost of under $900. This is as much as some families spend to send one child to a week-long summer camp!
